The ARNG are a critical component of our Nations military forces. These men and women serve in the same capacity as active duty personnel. They provide this service at a much lower cost as well.Jan 17th, 2014Someone from Morgan, UT signed.

Several US Army members dislike the Guard, I seen it during my Basic Training at Fort Dix. NJ. in 1985, I always wonder why? I served with the (RCAF) Royal Canadian Air Force for close to 16 years with 433 SQ, a F5 unit that frequently participated in NATO, and USAF exercise during the years. We worked along regular USAF units, and ANG units. I never saw any anamosity bethween the USAF and the ANG. The ANG were as goog as the USAF. I retired in 2011 from the ARNG after serving over 26 years in aviation, (Technician & Guard), and deploying in Afghanistan with the 1-285th ARB as the Aircraft Armament Officer MOS: 151AE, Our personnel were as proffessional as the US Army, and we had by far more technical expertise at repairing the AH-64D. The same was noted with the NYARNG that supported us with their CH-54. This is a knowed fact that the Guard can maintain their aircraft better and repair them faster. The US Army AVIM unit would had been lost if it wasn't for the ARNG AVIM support. As everyone know, we the guard attend the same schooling as our Active Duty brothers, so we know how well they performs, and honestly they also know how well we do. I hop this will push some of our brother in arms to aknowledge our contribution to the Aviation Support, and our contribution to defend our Country. The Army Guard need to etain their assets.REPORT COMMENTS

The Apaches belong with the Guard. No accidents with the Guard last year but several with the active component.REPORT COMMENTS

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." Taking the Apaches out of the Guard is taking the firepower out of our well regulated militias and is an infringement on the 2nd Amendment.REPORT COMMENTS
