As part of the total force the National guard apaches have not provided the bang for the buck over the last 14 years on the war on terrorism. Many of the guard apaches units never deployed, the ones who did did not deploy pure, the flag deployed but took an entire guard effort to field the unit ready for deployment. Guard units deployed at a 1:5 rate compared to active units. Ah-64s are the most in demand airframe to support the ground commander. Due to mobilization constraints a guard unit once deployed is not available for mobilization for another 4 years, this does not support ARFORGEN or the total force requirements. Regardless of the individual experience and readiness of the individual aviator the guard units as a whole are not proficient in total task required and collective training which is why it takes a year for mobilization to get these units ready to go. As part of the BCA or sequester and reduced budget the army is getting smaller this is the toatal army that the guard is a part of, we can not just reduce the active force alone the guard has to be part of the solution to meet our nations needs. This is not a jobs program for the states it si what is best for the defense of the nation. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PETITIONREPORT COMMENTS
