I was deployed in 2013 with my National Guard aviation battalion who maintains Apache helicopters. We replaced an active duty unit who was just finishing up an Apache major maintenance phase. It took them one whole year to do this major maintenance phase. My National Guard aviation unit started working around the clock and completed major maintenance phases in one week. National Guard apache maintainers have far better quality experience than the active duty counter parts and can due maintenance far more efficient.REPORT COMMENTS

From a LTC "What this means for Utah is 200 full-time jobs and another 400 traditional National Guard with Apache specific job skills affected."
