Both my husband and I work full time - both college educated, both slowly improving our financial situation with the start up of our own business in harsh economic times as well a second jobs. Head Start provides a rich environment for our 3 year old to prepare for school, he can count to 70 and is starting to read - at 3and a half!! It gives us the opportunity for us to work, which allows us to grow our business. We have increased our yearly tax income as a result and yet we still qualify because thats how low income we were. Do njot cut funds for this program, it serves to help better family's in so many ways. Education is the place to put funds, not military or defense. The old systems in economy, commerce and government are failing to provide long term solutions. Without educated children who can make innovate solutions and inventions on alternative energy and other issues which they alone will face in the years to come, we will be a lost nation. The children are the future, do not hurt their chances to be great. Not to mention the loss of thousands of jobs which support and make the Head Start program run daily. This is not the answer.REPORT COMMENTS
