I think it,s a good idea for states and the Federal Government to be consistent with the time an inmate serves. Some of these sentences are ridiculously long. I myself am a former federal inmate and it took years from my being with my family over a non violent crime. The sentencing act is preposterous, if I was only given the time to finish my sentence with my family, nonviolent white collar crimes are being over looked ...REPORT COMMENTS

I believe prisoners that haven't done such harsh crimes shouldn't suffer harsh time . It takes memories and time from they're kids and familes. I do agree that harsh crimes deserve punishment. But for the non violent crimes such as white collar crime, it should be lesser punishment.REPORT COMMENTS
