My son has to have insulin multiple times a day to live. People shouldn't die or have their blood glucose levels running high because they can't afford the meds needed to live and stay healthy!!!

I have relied on insulin for 37 years. I was diagnosed at 8 years old. We (diabetics) should not have to pay outrageous amounts of money for a drug that keeps us alive. Please help!

What is really sad is when your daughter needs the ER at the beginning of the year, you have now met your deductible but have a huge hospital bill instead. She's almost 19 - how is she going to be able to afford her insurance and her insulin and pump supplies when she is on her own? The increase amount in the 5 years since diagnosis is astounding and totally uncalled for!

The price of a life saving or sustaining medication is insane and should not be.

In my case, MY disease, type 1 diabetes, is fatal without insulin. As it becomes more difficult to afford, lives of those with lower-income will simply die. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, children. Without insulin people with type 1 diabetes die within a day or two. The price hikes are unethical and PBMs must be controlled.

Congress decided it worthy of investigating why EpiPens saw price increases, yet humble insulin saw enormous price increases, too (see http://www.pri.org/stories/2016-04-24/why-insulin-prices-have-tripled-just-decade for more), and people with Type 1 diabetes require the hormone all the time for survival, not only to treat occasional emergencies due to bee stings or peanut allergies.

In the almost 7 years since our son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes the cost of insulin and supplies have increased dramatically and the amount that insurance covers has decreased.
