Non-violent drug offenders , who themselves are addicts, and used more than they sold have been given long-term sentences without the chance for parole. Most of them have families and probably could be rehabbed if put in a structured program. The Federal System needs to look at the needs of the entire family, they need the breadwinner working to support the family not the family leaving off the government as well as the prisoner. A program should be developed for punishment but at the same time rehab. A lengthy sentence robs everyone including the community. Why not have another taxpayer helping with the cost instead of taxpayers fitting the bill of another inmate. Early release should be a cost the inmate should pay each month for the price of freedom and this way its a compromise on both parts.REPORT COMMENTS

The congress needs ti make these changes this really moderen day slavery for our country allow these men and women ti be with thier love ones inmates have lost loved ones while incarerated, some have no support,please put families back together,this system is ran the same way it was when slavery was exceptable the only difference they pretend to treat us all the same, change is needed in our justice system please help my son isone of thses indiviuals thats in this system low level drug offender, frist federal drug sentence, please bring back federal paroleREPORT COMMENTS
