I am not certain why anyone needs an assault rifle (AK-47, AR-15, Minni 14) with 30 or 40 round magazines. Folks say that they are good for small game hunting? I got a crazy idea. Go to the grocery store spend $5.00 and buy a prepared chicken.. There is just no need for anyone other than our law enforcement officials to own those weapons.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a strong believer in the right to bear arms. Assault weapons are excessive. If we take it that far fighting for the right to have assault weapons, why not own a tank or man pad to stop intruders? Because it is excessive. The point of the second amendment is to protect yourself, not blow a hole through someone leaving him or her in recognizable. The only persons who should have assault weapons are law enforcement and the military. Why are we not arming each law enforcement officer with AR15s and M4 to properly protect the public. It is ridiculous private citizens have the opportunity to own these weapons, but we only issue handguns to police. What happened to our priorities?REPORT COMMENTS
