To the people in power who hold the ability to make this change on a higher level: Please for a moment, put aside politics and your reputation, and imagine that one of your closest friends or family members fell victim during a scenario such as the recent one in Las Vegas. Please answer truthfully this questions: "Would I still allow for assault rifles to be purchased by everyday Americans?" Even if they pass the tests set in place, even if they don't have a former history of violence and criminal activity...it's becoming clear that lack of these factors does not equate to lack of ability to do something so vile and sick.How many more mass shootings will it take for the government to decide that the ability for Americans to own assault rifles is senseless and leads to horrific acts?? These are lives being lost, not a change in government funding or an increase in taxes or whatever issue you can name...this is bigger than that. I am an avid hunter and fisherman and there is no need for these types of firearms in the public venue. Lets face the facts ,these weapons are for killing people not game animals.
