Petition to ban assault weapons
Military grade weapons doesn't belong in our streets and neighborhoods
A tragedy of great proportions happened today, Dec 14, 2012, which broke our hearts. 20 children and 6 adults died in a mass shooting in an Elementary School in Newtown, CT. In the recent past there were mass shootings in a mall in Oregon, in a Sikh temple in Wisconsin and a theater in Aurora. Easy access to assault weapons makes such mass killings possible.
Assault weapons doesn't belong in our streets and neighborhoods. The 2nd Amendment gives us the right to bear arms, but it doesn't define arms. Were do we draw the line? If we don't draw a line, can a Howitzer be considered a gun that a private citizen can own? We need to pass a law that bans weapons that belong in the military from being owned by private citizens.
This is a petition to pass a law banning assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

NO other country has frequent mass shootings but the U. S. A.
Our govt is mostly owned by NRA. SHAME on those that care more about $$ than people's lives. Karma will meet u harshly one day. Someone might target your families because you never want to enforce common sense laws banning those with violent histories from getting guns that should only be reserved for military and those that pass an extensive psych exam
