Working to correct an injustice...how can someone help when they don't know or understand the problem. Educating the public is crucial to recovery.Sep 14th, 2011Someone from Amarillo, TX writes:
if you let our VETERENS go and not take care of them then youare doing a severe unjustice to them, thier familiesand AMERICAREPORT COMMENTS

Please Give PTSD a full week so that it will give more time to shine the light on a very important and sometimes tragic problem facing our Troops.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband deployed 3 times and was diagnosed with PTSD around 2 years ago. It would be much easier for him and all other PTSD patients if people would understand what PTSD is. It would be easier to step forward and say I NEED HELP. Most of the patients are embarrassed because other people are not informed and may call them crazy! I agree with Angel R. - we could prevent a lot of soldiers committing suicide! Families need better tools to get informed ... it took me years to understand and learn. I needed to find out about different therapies available by myself. The military needs to step it up too and inform the families about PTSD and treatments available. We need a PTSD Awareness Week! There is a lot more behind it!REPORT COMMENTS

We must help these men and women find the "worth" of carrying on after facing star and EXTREME circumstances. This is our duty here at home, to those who have fought on our behalf and the behalf of freedom, and life itself. Failure on our part is NOT an option!.REPORT COMMENTS

I was deployed twice and have been affected by PTSD, I feel that it is important that we have a national awareness day, week, or month, so that when servicemembers come home their familes can help them cope with their issues. Also, to keep the suicide rate down.REPORT COMMENTS

Stop the military from making them feel less than when they need help. There have been so many soldiers that have committed suicide after their service that its shameful!! Do something to help them!!!REPORT COMMENTS
