Lupron, Leuprolide needs to be taken completely off the market immediately with out delay until "Protection Law" is implemented!

I just had my first dose this month and already I'm in so much pain. I'm 32 and have endometriosis. I discovered not know anything about this drug being a chemotherapy drug. The doctor wants me on this drug for 6 months then on birth control. Now after reading this I'm having second thoughts of getting my next shot. Definitely going to think about this. -

My husband suffered confusion and severe dementia shortly after being put on Lupron. A couple of years into his illness (prostate cancer) he had several small strokes. Neurologist told me he saw many men with the same symptoms after taking Lupron. He said many pharmacologists and many urologist will deny this and of cours the drug company's I was more saddened by the dementia and confusion than I was of his physical symptoms. In hind site I think he would have had a better quality of life without the Lupron. He died five years into the illness the whole time mentally impaired. SAD!!!REPORT COMMENTS

My father started with confusion just days after his first shot as a follow on from 9 weeks of radiation (10 mins 5x week) for prostrate cancer. The plan was for 3 years on Eligard/Lupron 1 shot every six months. I am glad we stopped after two shots. I can't imagine what the severity would be. My father no longer dresses himself but can maneuver with a walker. The demensia like symptoms continue to progress however. It's been 2 years since his first shot.REPORT COMMENTS

I was prescribed lupron 2 different time in the early 2000s.. both times it was for 3 months. The prescribing doctor was getting a lick back from the pharmaceutical co. I suffer sever joint problems with edema in the joints. Brittle teeth, mind fog. I also started thyroid problems which eventually led to me having to have it removed. I was on Lupron back in 92-93 for a little over a year for Endometriosis, Endometriomas, and 4 surgeries by the time I was 22. Ever since I have had problems with my joints, Fibromyalgia,Migraines,Depression, Brittle Teeth, etc. This Drug must be removed and further studies for safety and long term affects must be done. It is unfortunate that the Doctors who prescribed this Drug received kick backs from the Pharmaceutical Companies and they both should be held accountable. The irony on this Lupron is I'm also a DES Baby (another Hormone that was supposedly safe) pulled off in 1972 and the Doctors and Pharmaceuticals failed me twice. I was given Lupron for severe endometriosis and told that if the Lupron helped my symptoms then "we" would know that I for sure had endometriosis and would benefit from a hysterectomy. I received twice the recommended dose and double the number of recommended injections. My doctor told me this was safe. He told me not to "Google it" because there were lies on the internet about Lupron being awful. He did not tell me this was chemotherapy or what any of the adverse effects were. Everything I learned was on my own and through experience. I am now disabled with severe joint and bone pain. I have lost my career. I have lost my job. I have no friends and very poor quality of life because no one understood why I was so sick from these injections. It has been 5 years since I started by course of Lupron "therapy" and none of the side effects have improved. My bone and joints are so bad I require prescription pain medication daily. My hair fell out like a cancer patient and took 4 years to grow back. My body has been destroyed and no one cares. Not the drug company, not the doctor who demanded I take this treatment or risk being labelled non-compliant and difficult. NO ONE who is actually at fault will take any responsibility. People deserve to be warned that this drug can destroy the health that they have. If I could rewind the clock I would NEVER have consented to taking this chemotherapy. NEVER.REPORT COMMENTS

I have severe arthritis in my back, neck and knees and I am only 46. I went on Lupron Depot for endometriosis twice in my live, for 6 months and 4 months, respectively. It has severely reduced my ability to do normal chores and exercise. Just waking up in the morning I am in severe pain and have trouble walking down my stairs. He's going crazy at night waking up with gentiles on fire he says. Bad dreams. Been to the E.R. about 10 times over this. He was given gabapentin 1st it did not work. My name is Bill I have advanced prostate cancer , less diagnosed in October of 2015 following a biopsy that resulted in (4) 5+4 and (2)4+5 Gleason scores , 70% 80% 2 at 90% and 2 at 100% . My tumor had spread to the surrounding tissues and nerves but testing found no bone or lympnoid presence at that time. Although I found it hard to believe that my bones were negative for the cancer, because I've had aching in my lower back rib cage for some time and it has gradually worsend, I was being tattooed for radiation when suddenly I was sent back to my urologist to start on this Lupron med, it took almost a month for the approval and delivery of the Lupron and the oncologist wanted me to finish the first 3 month period before radiation was started, I just recieved my 5th dose two days ago(FEB) 9th, my PSA was. 0.2 my testosterone was almost zero, , Although I'm 58 before the Lupron I still woke up in the morning ,well let's just say that's back wasn't the only thing that was stiff. The Lupron hormone treatments have completly erased any want or need , or attraction of women, witch is a good thing considering my situation physically and financially, . Of the many side effects that I suffer from the most scary/ dangerous is the mental conditions that start the second day, after injection , I've always had a rage in me , but I've always controlled it with in or by myself. If go slug a tree or a block wall . And that would be that , but now I might be crying from some love song or feeling so lost and alone with an aching so deep in my gut, ( I've always had more emotions and passion then I let anyone see) and reaching for a tissue that if isn't there I will be screaming and hitting and breaking up my own property, total uncontrolled rage, , these episodes continue. For the first couple of weeks and then taper off, I've had the police show up a couple of times because passerbys have thought I was killing someone. I should tell you that I live alone in a motor home, I make my living as a tree climber and a land scaper. 2 years ago I could spike up a 80 ft palm tree or once a year for a month I was climbing the huge 150' Douglas furs and trimming them for a heathy future instead of removing them , which was the norm untill my technique , it might take me an hour just to climb up a tree now . I get naushes I get so winded that I've almost had to be taken down by the fire dept. if Bruce Jenner wants to fill like a women he should get on this Lupron, it grows boobs too, but just my luck I could care less, the bottom line is , for a doctor to give a shot to a person and not seriously warn and explain the possibilitys of the numerous side effects is mal practice, I have mentioned the uncontrolled emotional out breaks that I have but they just say now you know what a women goes through , or that I can go back to my G.P. I am presently 50 years old. Since being injected with Lupron in 2008 my life has been forever changed. Aside from the agonizing months following the "therapy", it hastened the effects I was trying to stave off. I have been menopausal for over five years. In preparation for IVF I was advised to have the Lupron shot prior to surgery to remove uterine fibroids. I experienced months of menstrual-like bleeding in extreme proportions. In order to keep working I had to battle the onslaught hourly with every women's sanitary product layered up and changed, hourly. This went on from October to January, requiring a postponement of the surgery to remove the fibroids. Other symptoms after receiving Lupron included infernal hot flashes 24 hours a day and for months following the injection, exhaustion, loss of appetite, depression, major joint pain, and short term memory loss. I contacted the Lupron nurse as I was advised to for advice and to advise on my circumstances. The drug was being evaluated, I am now sure. Records exist. I advise anyone who is looking in to treatment for fibroids to run the other way at the mention of Lupron.REPORT COMMENTS

I was put on lupron for endometriosis for 7 months last year, while I was on the injections my immune system crashed, I started to be come chronic fatigued, then I was no longer sleeping, my hair got super thin and came out in chucks and I lost a lot of weight. During each month while on the injections I could still tell you when it was that time of the month: since I been off the injections my body has constantly been hurting, my periods came back and I'm on the mirana. I was never given any information about Lupron being a chemotherapy agent. I was never given any written information about this medication at all. My life has changed drastically. I have missed out on my adopted kids childhood, they have grown up and I have been a spectator. I filed for disability, finally on the third attempt, I actually won. This is more than many can say. I do not know where I would be without this financial assistance. I just had my 4th endometriosis surgery and my doctor removed only 50% of my endometriosis and told me it would've taken all day to remove! He told me, I would have to go on Lupron and I told him I will never go on it and it's the drug from hell!!! He's been trying to push it on me for years and I keep telling him hell no!!! I was diagnosed with grade 1 endometriosis. I had no symptoms. I was just facing issue in conceiving. Doctor gave me Lupron 11mg. I did not get my periods after that. Now I can't even try. My wife has had one injection of Lupron to prevent cancer cells from redeveloping from breast cancer. Since the shot (three months ago) she is barely able to get out of bed, has terrible migraines, her bones hurt constantly all over her entire body, stomach pain that never goes away and the list goes on. Stay away from this drug and tell everyone you know so no other women have their lives ruined by this drug. Most side affects seem to remain long-term, something the doctors failed to mention as they also said the only side affect would be drowsiness. I'm not blaming anyone but this drug is a death sentence that need taken off the market NOW! DO NOT TAKE LUPRON.
