My uncle has colon cancer and he is basically starving to death because of his chemo treatments...I work with a man and he is going through the same thing right now. He has lost at least 70 lbs in the last 4 months. I cry everytime I seen him. My cousin has Crohn's disease and can hardly eat without throwing up...It is so sad. I know that they would be able to keep their nausea at bay if medical marijuana were avaliable to them. They are old school and I'm sure that they have heard all of the Reefer Madness propaganda and think that it is a horrible thing, but if it were legal and a doctor told them that it was an option, I'm sure they would look at it in a different light...I have been reading a lot of studies and doing research on the subject...and I know that it could help them. If nothing else, their quality of life would be better...With the numbers that decriminalization passed with, I can't imagine that medical marijuana wouldn't also pass. No one wants to see their loved ones go through the pain and suffering that these diseases cause. My mother had cancer in 1980 and if I knew then what I know now, she would have never been sick like she was. I sat in the backseat with her and held her hair back so she could throw up in a bucket for an hour on the way home from the hospital after getting her treatments. No one should have to go through that if there is an alternative. Is there any way that this can be brought up. Thank you for your time and for listening.REPORT COMMENTS

my father and his father died from cancer.my father just died around a year ago and pot was the onley thing that keep him alive as long as it did it helped him eat and was the best medican for his pain.i was involved in a wreck where a coal truck hit me when i got off work from the refinery on 64 rite at the ky and west virgina line and been on pain pills ever cence but the worst part is now.I have a verry rare cancer and no hospital in the state of ky knew how to treat me, so they sent me to the duck university in nc. to find out how to treat me and all my left breast was cut off and that has lead me to a pain life like trying to live in hell with all my pain and i can not hardley eat now and can not bare the pain no longer.i am also hooked on 2 different pain pills witch my dr gives me pluse valum AND IF I COULD USE MEDICAL POT FOR MY MEDICAN I WOULD NOT NEED NO KIND OF PILLS AND I COULD LIVE A LOT BETTER LIFE SO IF YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR HARTS PLEASE HELP GET KY TO WHERE I CAN USE POT FOR ALL MY MEDICAN.THANK YOU and i hope you can read my bad writing for i had to quit school and get a job at the time a job was the onley chose i had and i could not finish school and i was a union pipefitter till the wreack and got cancer on top of that and its just a stragueal for me to live with all my pain and the pills are just killing me like the cancer is doing and no one has ever died from pot so please help me.i live in sandy hook kyREPORT COMMENTS

I watched my girlfriends mother slowly die from cancer. Marijuana was the only thing that eased her pain without making her terribly sick. But the fear of having to associate with drug dealers added to the fear of being harassed or jailed by the police was to much. So she slowly died without access to a simple plant that could of eased her pain. Shame on the politicians and anyone else that doesn't support this.REPORT COMMENTS

I just hope it is done right, rather than botched to pieces like what's happened recently in other states like Michigan and Arizona. If it wasnt for the one plants that loves everybody i would be screwed. And i promise thats right i promise that crime will go down an the boys in blue can focus on getting the real drug dealers an all the pills heroin meth cock crack off the streets but please make marijuana legal kentucky an the hole usa will be a better place... Iv had some major brain surgery, and although I am perscribed a truck load of pain medications, they all in all do not work. Im still in some major pain most of the time. I sit in my house with the curtains closed and lights off under a blanket 75% of the time. The only thing that works for me is Marijuana. But alas.. I have to stop it a month before my next doctors appointment for a regular drug test, so I am stuck for that month having to sit at home, under my blankets and unable to play with my 3 kids, having to always hear "Whats wrong daddy." I was hit head on by a semi-truck and my doctors wanted me to have a pain pump because they said I was to young to be put on pain pills for the rest of my life and I would develop addiction. I told them if they didnt see more risk in being put on a morphine pump then something is wrong with their brain. Everyone talks about marijuana like it is the same as all the other drugs, but if u walk into a rehab facility they wont even accept you unless you are on some other type of drug because marijuana is considered non-additive and I agree. With only this drug, u have never heard of people overdosing, can still function well enough to drive and work, and it is not addictive. They say it affects your driving but I disagree, its the alcohol and pills that make u impaired. This law would really help me cope with my excruciating pain yet letting me function well enough to take care of my children, and not have to worry about a drug addicton in the future. This law should be passed if anyone cares about a persons quality of life, no one should have to be in devastaing pain for the rest of their life when there is something available to help ease their pain.REPORT COMMENTS
