Please take action and hold those involved accountable. This case is not an isolated incident. It seems to be becoming more frequent by the day. Innocent people are becoming distrustful and fearful of those who are supposed to be "Brave" and guardians to the public.. not cowards who shoot unarmed citizens and then cover it up. People are becoming so fearful of unjust police encounters, they are beginning to prepare to shoot back or shoot first to save their own lives! Something has to change. Violence breeds further violence. We must hold all members of any branch of power to a higher degree of responsibility. Their "title" of police officer should not ever grant leniency, especially when such great injustice has taken place, and they are clearly at fault. They should be ashamed. All law enforcement should. Where are the courageous men cleaning up the street gangs and chasing down serial killers and rapists? These days, cops are so consumed with writing speeding tickets, that when a "real" or assumed "crime" is taking place, they lose common sense and backbone, unequipped with the skills to truly do the job they are paid to do : protect and serve... not shoot to kill.Aug 5th, 2011Someone from Bowmansville, NY signed.

I am beyond disgusted by this story. I truly hope that a new law is enacted to prevent future fatalities and violence from police officers. If you are so weak that six of you you can't subdue a non-violent, unarmed man, you don't deserve to be police officers. Americans must act to prevent violence like this from occuring. These officers should not be on paid leave and they should be sitting in jail. The blue wall needs to be broken. Your duty is to protect citizens of this country. It is unacceptable and consequentially improbable, that in this country six (6) highly trained and fully equipped "Officers of the Law" are incapable of restraining, subduing & detaining one (1) American citizen; for any allegedly or otherwise confirmed crime, find it necessary to engage in the use of excessive force. This is alleged misconduct, currently, prosecuted as a crime by our military forces far from home on the battlefields of Iraq & Afghanistan. I submit that ANY excessive force, proven by testimony or eye witness accounts that result in the death of an American citizen no matter the alleged charge, should be by constitutional right, the realm of the court system and local citizens review board. By birthright, American citizens are endowed with a "Bill Of Rights" as afforded by the Constitution of the United States of America and the promise of the founding fathers. We as a collective body of American citizens find it of utmost importance and urgency, to reaffirm our right of due process and our rights of the liberties which were bestowed upon us, by our Creator, Constitution and Founding Fathers..REPORT COMMENTS

It's so disturbing at how apparent this case has exposed the excessive force that's used in police departments. I'm sure that this isn't the first incident of excessive force in Fullerton PD or any other PD for that matter. If people can't trust those who are provided to protect and serve, then who will we trust? If this doesn't pass I feel there will be a big outburst from the public in some shape or form. This law should have been passed long ago, I'm surprised that this even needs to be passed. Isn't this common sense? Does our law enforcement lack common sense?
