It is inconceivable to me that any person would be allowed to not pay the price for this horribly torture. This is more than just dumping a carcass down a trash shoot: it is about the entire life of this poor dog. WHY did she never feed it? WHY did she abuse it cause punctures on his body? WHY could she leave him tied up in front of her apartment building with no food, no one to care for him, out in the weather starved and exposed to the elements? If you cannot take care of something or no longer have the ability to take care of something then you should find a way to get help or get help for what you can no longer take care of. How can anyone in their right mind "watch" an animal starve to death and be tortured right in front of your eyes? This probably did not occur in one week while she was out of town; apparently this occurred over months and months and months of abuse. The trash bag down the trash shoot was the final insult. There are serious issues involved in this case and we need some answers, serious answers, as to how it is "OKAY" in 2011 in the United States of America for this to be acceptable? Any human being (and I use the term loosely) that is capable of this destruction obviously has issues and absolutely not much regard for life. We need to see some serious changes in the Animal Abuse Laws, at all the States level and on a National level. We are respectfully requesting that you take this case very seriously. Child Abuse is a crime & can be severely punishable. Animal Abuse is almost the exact same thing so why treat it differently? As a person who cannot have children, I regard my dogs as my furbabies & I'm not alone. Like a person parent I would do anything for my dogs; there is no limit.
