I was only told of the side effects that I would experience while on the lupron. I was never told of any long term effects of it. And I never had the chance to read the packaging even if anything was printed on it bc the medicine was sent to the doctor I went to the doctor she injected me with it and I never even saw the package. I would like someone to send me a list of the long term side effects of it now. I have been going through alot of health problems since the Lupron that I didn't know why and I can't seem to find a doctor that will listen to me. It would be nice to finally have some answers.May 25th, 2011Someone from Mount Pleasant, MI writes:
I would never recommend this drug to anyone. I really would like to hear about the long terms effects after a study has been conducted. I have endometriosis, and had been put on Lupron injections for 6 months. I feel worse than ever, i wish i could go back and refuse Lupron.REPORT COMMENTS

Lupron has destroyed me mentally. The severe depression has cost me my job, children, and friends. My husband is still trying to hang in there but I do not know how much more he can handle. My moods change from second to second. I have so much anxiety and most days not only do I not want to get out of bed and refuse to leave my house. I took Lupron for 12 months to try to shrink three fibroid tumors. I was never told that I could have such severe mental problems that I would want to commit suicide which I did attempt several months ago. I am on strong anti-depressants but they do not seem to be helping. The fibroids did not shrink and I am still going to have a hysterectomy which I should have just had done in the first place. I had a wonderful life a year and a half ago and now I would not wish my life or the way I feel on my worst enemy. No person on this earth should take this drug. It should be taken off the market immediately!!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

I have thought for years that Lupron was the culprit of many of my problems. After reading several statements, I am positive. My heart aches for those that have worse problems than I. I had 3 injections after a laporoscopy about 16 years ago. It forced my body into menopause. I have hypothyroidism, joint pain that has worsened over the years when it flares up. I have had physical therapy 3 times for shoulder and lower back pain. I have bursitis in my right shoulder. I have 4 bulging discs, 1 is in my neck and narrowing, which causes numbness and tingling when I over do, which doesn't take much these days. I get stumped with getting everyday words out when I talk sometimes, it is very embarrassing to me. I get depressed because I cannot do what I once did and it doesn't look like I ever will. I have had bouts of severe anxiety. I feel like I continue to get weaker and more fatigued. I am fed up to my ears with doctors who will not take me seriously. They tell me I am tired because of having three small children and want to shove anti-depressants down my throat. Please please please do not allow one more doctor administer this drug. Don't let another person needlessly suffer this way. I saw one statement that the fatigue caused by Lupron was well worth getting rid of endometrial pain. I was not given that choice! I totally disagree with that. I have lost my life due tom this drug. My children do not have the mother that they deserve because of this drug. Thank heavens they have such a great dad to fill in where I am lacking.REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered extreme joint pain since taking lupron for endo. I was never informed that was a possibility. I would go back to the endo pain over this pain in an instant if I could.REPORT COMMENTS

My father has to take Lupron shots for his prostate cancer. The side effects are so much worse than the natural progression of the disease, according to him. Ironically, as his son, one of Lupron's side effects, osteoporosis, directly impacts me, since I was diagnosed with it two years ago in 2009. The diagnosis is a direct side-effect of a prescription drug I was taking, Prozac, an SSRI medication. I have since discontinued Prozac altogether, under a physician's supervision. Long-term studies need to be conducted on these drugs, before they are given to the general public. It saddens me that my father has to live with the side-effects of the Lupron, and to see his quality of life go downhill.REPORT COMMENTS

I have not taken Lupron personally, but have two loved ones who are suffering side-effects currently. My dad and husband have both experienced numerous problems from this horrific drug. They were both administered the drug without being properly informed of the possible side-effects. Neither one would have agreed had they been given the facts. Please remove the drug from the market or at least require full disclosure of possible side-effects to the patient prior to administration.REPORT COMMENTS

I was given 4 shots of Lupron Depot. I started having tingling, numbness and also started having numbness in my legs and feet. I am now having to use a walker and wheel chair. I have to be assisted to all my needs. It's a very hopless feeling. I hope something can be done by the FDA and Congress to discontinue giving this Lupron to anyone to suffer again.REPORT COMMENTS
