My husband is a veteran and he and I both attended UOP. I have over $75k in debt that I will never be able to pay off. At the time I agreed to student loans I didn't understand how they worked. If I knew that they compounded interest upon interest I would have never signed up. I actually owe more now than I did when I signed up. To pay this off in 10 years I would have to pay over $1000 per month. Unfortunately I'm not in the position to afford that.

This school scammed me out of thousands of dollars. They never gave me the job placement tools they said they had because no one wants to hire someone who graduated from this non accredited school. Not even they will hire graduates from their own school.

After a corporate layoff in 2009, I was recruited to complete my previous studies at UOP. Was showered with loans and the promise that my degree would be worth something, get job, pay loans or told to continue with MS degree. After accepting only part of my previous credits & completing BS Management (the quickest) I continued to search for work. I was only working contract/no benefits and not able to reenter my field despite over 15 yrs. of business experience. In addition I was told by some recruiters the UOP degree was not helping my resume. I had to resort to retail job and went back to school for a Master's in order to pursue a career change which was my only option. I worked retail for 2.5 yrs. and continued studying but at a state university and completed a masters degree. However my student debt for both is sky high and after graduating in May 2015, loans are due and they are more than I can afford despite landing a good job. The debt we incurred during the layoff + student loans from UOP + other are crazy. Especially at my age....feeling helpless. Had to take student loan to go back to school after lay off, got job after MS degree but now can't climb out of debt hole from all the student loans. I was damned if I do, damned if I don't. Will die still owing $$$$$$ after UOP was worthless!
