If you have not walked an inch in my shoes- Shut Up-all you know are abusers!Surprise ! There are tons of patients, who don't and NEVER have abused their pain meds. I have a 30year record of never abusing my meds! Why am I being punished? It is because patients don't matter to FDA/DEA, govt. etc.REPORT COMMENTS

I've been dealing with chronic back and neck pain for 10 years. I've tried everything to ease the pain. I put my body through so many procedures, all for nothing. The only thing that works for me is opiate pain medication. It doesn't take all the pain away but it makes it bearable so I can have a productive life. Every month I pee in a cup like I'm a criminal. When the nurse asks what is my pain level on the meds, I say it's usually a 6, sometimes a 7. When they say without, I say 11. For real! Listen, I don't need a doctor (who doesn't understand what we go through) to tell me to stop taking pain meds and go do yoga. F*ckhead! I'm an entrepreneur and don't want to be laid up nothing all day. I want to work. And I do work. I've been going to a great doctor who listens and understands. But I'm hearing so many stories lately that you cannot trust your doctor, that the DEA is targeting them and getting them to turn on us. I'm terrified of this! I cannot imagine not having my pain meds available to me. I just want to lead a normal life. I didn't ask for this chronic pain! I'm only 51. It scares me that my condition gradually worsens over time. I'm not mentally addicted to pain meds. I could wean myself right off of them if I didn't suffer in pain. We keep hearing of suicides. I never in my life thought of that or was able to understand why or how someone could think that. Until I became a chronic pain sufferer. I get it. It's scary how many of us are out here with the same story. Dear DEA, Congress, Doctors and whoever else will listen: Do no harm, just help us. Please.REPORT COMMENTS

I'm a chronic pain for my back. I've had surgery, every procedure offered by my pain management doctor. I've done spinal cord stimulator trial and did have the permanent implanted. The only thing that has helped me is my pain medication. Now today at doctors office I've been told that the GOVERNMENT HAS TOLD MY DOCTOR WHAT HE CAN PRESCRIBE. I understand that there are addicted people and some who may sell pills. But this LAW IS HURTING THE HONEST PEOPLE!!! I'm drug tested and have never had any issues. I see regular doctor who also monitors my health. And I see physiatrist. And by taking medicine away from me will only put my life in jeopardy, but the life of my dependent minor. I'm so ANGRY about this because I fear that when enough medicine is taken away that I'll consider the streets or suicide. Government needs to let the doctors treat their patients and STOP HURTING THOSE IN NEED!!!!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

Hello my name is Jennifer an I live in ocean county. I have been dealing with pain for a long time now since 2005 when I had my first surgery on my back. The first surgery I had failed as I'm sure I'm not alone. In 2006 I had another back surger. I am now left with metal bars an screws Nwe've damage an two lastic docs. I have tried everything under the sun before turning to pain pills. Pain pills were my last resort. Finally I had found something that works. It doesn't take away all my pain but at least it lets me live life a little easier. Now with the new laws I'm being taken off my pain medication. It's like starting all over again. Not being able to live my life once again. It's terrible how the doctrs are being told not to help people in pain. If a person is on disability an has proff of there pain they should not be told by a pain doctor that I can't help u. It's not fair that people in pain have to suffer because of people that abuse there meds. When someone become addicted to alcohol they don't put a band on it an tell people we can no longer sell u alcohol.I grew up with two parents that drank just about everyday an believe me it can have an impact on your up bringing. I do understand the problem we have today with the pain medication. I had a sister who was on heroin an I know first had what can happen to a person. Unfortunately I couldn't help her an now she is no longer with me. So I do get it!!! I really do. But there needs to be a line drawn when it comes to people suffering with pain. The way the DEA is just takeing everyone off the pills that need then isn't right. Yes there are some people who don't need them an get them anyway. BT there are also people that need them to live. If someone has proof of there pain an has tried everything under the sun an the pills are the only thing that works they should not be told there is nothing we can do for u. U should not have to be a pin cushion with injections that work for a day or so an the rest of the month u are left suffering. I think there should be another solution for people like my self before the DEA just says oh well to bad u suffer!!! Keep suffering. There are days I don't want to live because the pain is so bad.an it scares me to know thatthe there is no longer any help for me an that I'm no longer gonna be able to live life.the DEA needs to realize that there are people out there that are considered disabled by the state an need there meds. I really hope that the DEA changes some if the rules to this pill problem we have. But makeing people suffer is not the way. The doctors need to know who they can help an who they can't. There should be a way that someone like myself should be allowed to sue who ever makes these rules. It's just not fair that people have to suffer for bad apples.REPORT COMMENTS

I find it VERY wrong, to point of life threatening as well as removing a quality of life one is used to. If a person has been treated for years w medications that worked for them, why, is the DEA hunting or hurting doctors like it's a witch hunt? There ARE many so many of us who DO NOT deserve this . We ask please do no harm,do not take what is our rights. I ask humbly- Regardless what happens w the drug addicts,IV users this does NOT relate to your average pain patient. If a person has a visible pain ,MRI- Bloodwork etc, they should be able to continue on w their care and follow the contract made between them and their doctor.REPORT COMMENTS

When I began pain management way back in 1994 I was told by the medical professionals that these opioid drugs are safe to take. I suffered greatly from two failed neck surgeries, and left with bilateral radicular pain, headaches, and severe muscle spasms. I had a plethora of other modalities including high frequency ablasions, epidural steroid injections, portable TENS, PT and deep tissue massage, and trigger point injections to name a few. Eventually I agreed to go on the long term opioid therapy. I have now been on them since 1999! I relocated to eastern PA in July 2015. Since then I have not been able to find another pain management doctor willing to accept me as a patient. My inability to handle high doses of none steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs due to a hiatal hernia and acid reflux leaves me absolutely no options within a legal framework!. If these "pain management" doctors will no longer prescribe pain medications for very REAL and provable PAIN, are they now saying they erred by claiming these drugs were safe to use? Did they cause me serious harm by putting me on them for 18 years? Perhaps the only solution left is to find an attorney?REPORT COMMENTS

This is totally ridiculous and I have used opioids for five years due to accidents throughout my entire life that included my neck, spine, and compound fracture just below my rotator cuff. I have never failed a random drug test. I have always taken my medication as directed, and had correct pill counts time after time. I cannot work in this kind of pain, without medication, and being 48 years old, I have no other way of life without being able to do my daily activities, such as raising my children, daily housework activities, and going to work. Just to durvive in this world. So if this were used against me, I can assure you that my quality of life would be nothing! Much less would I want someone caring for me like I am 95 years old already. Really need to condider the people who do the right thing because they don't have another choice, and yes, I've tried all alternative ways to treat my chronic pain with a very small effect, if not exacerbating the pain I'm already in. Get your crap together, because I have to every day, wether I feel like it or not!REPORT COMMENTS

It's the DEA who causes this entire atrocity. And, in my humble opinion, it comes down to finance and how the DEA makes their income. It's my understanding that any drug seizures and or prosecution of a drug related case by the DEA results in a financial bonus by seizure of the person's assets and the DEA keeps this. If this is true the financial windfall of seizing and converting thousands of doctors assets is quite lucrative. I have chronic Intractable Pain and I can assure you that reducing my medication ruins quality of life, it does not prevent me from sudden and unexplainable death. The statistics surrounding the reduction of opiates and longterm survival of people with chronic pain is total BS. I will lose 20 years of life from lack of sleep, a reduced ability to fight disease, and a mental depression that is staggering because of the corruption surrounding this. I simply hope that those people who created this tragic practice get to suffer like the rest of us for a lifetime.REPORT COMMENTS

The shot lasts 4 months and keeps me pain free. Now I have moved to another state and I can't find any primary care doctors who give shots of anykind in their offices. They want to refer me to a pain mgmt doctor. Now my primary care wont even give me adult vaccine for Shingles or pnuemonia ? They wrote me perscriptions for Vit B12 and want me to drive the vial back to their office to be injected....bizzare to say the least--I tried to go to 3 pharmacies to get the vaccines but none of them could get their computers to accept my insurance so I called the insurance and both told me I am covered. So now I do not know what to do except drive back to my old residence and see the doctor I was going to there for these shots.....I feel very discouraged. It must be why I've been ashamed to talk about my pain now. There are legitimate reasons People should be treated with dignity & respect and not treated as "addict" Passed from 1 Dr to another, everyone jaded and afraid of attracting attention from the politicians, or state agencies for writing prescriptions for opiates. Honestly, where is the humanity? How can we let morale values About "same sex" marriages, & who is permitted to use the correct bathroom And infringing upon the rights of Gays, Transgenders, now the legal use of marijuana, but let's take what quality of life that left from someone dealing with chronic pain, someone who worked for 50 years and should be able to enjoy What's left of life, but instead they worry about being "classified" a drug seeker Let's take away the few hours they may get relief from a pill, let's watch them Withdrawal from friends & family to hide the pain they feel. Let's pay taxes for For more alcoholic celebrations for politicians who think they know how to Practice medicine and diagnose a way of life for someone who wakes every morning with pain and the only relief is being taken away, that's why the The suicidal percentages are raising. I bet everyone on the "bandwagon" Has a loved one who deals with pain, or what happens when through no Fault of their own, have horrific pain and can't find a "pain Dr" To treat them. In 2004, while on my lunch break, I was sitting at a red light when a young girl rear-ended my vehicle. Her car actually went up under my vehicle. The impact caused my head to hit the ceiling of my vehicle. I sustained TBI resulting in PanHypoPituitarism, damage to my Thalamus and Hypothalamus and spinal cord nerve damage. Pain Management doctors will not touch me since the ?new laws? as they put it went into effect. Doctors blame the CDC, AMA, FDA and DEA. Of course, doctors accept none of the blame for neglecting patients in enormous pain. I suffer so badly every day and cannot function. I miss being healthy and would give anything to not have to see another doctor ever. In 2005, after throwing up blood for several months, I threw up so much that I was admitted to the ICU. A surgeon came in one morning and told my husband and me that he would and could operate on my bleeding duodenal ulcer. By afternoon, he came back and basically said that he would not touch me. The doctors managed my duodenal ulcer with medications and after 10 days I was transferred to Telemetry. I was there for a few hours when a doctor came in to my room and told me that I could go home the next day. I was elated. Within hours, I passed out and had to be revived. I threw up bright red blood all over the gentleman who saved my life and for that I am sorry. They rushed me to surgery and cauterized the ulcer. A few more days in ICU and I was able to go home. To get to my point, I am so sick of doctors blaming any and every government agency. Doctors should treat their patients properly and if they have to explain themselves to anyone they should use the medical records, test results, etc. to substantiate their medical decision(s). They should not leave us in agony with no place to turn!REPORT COMMENTS

this is intentional torture and its illegal. further its illegal for the DEA to tell anyone how to treat a patient when they are in fact not doctors. my dr had me get x-rays and the xrays came back negative except a arthritis spur under my shoulder. the first clue was that the dr who read the xrays said i had no surgeries. i have plates and screws in my wrist funny they did not xray this, but have a femor shaft the entire left leg. 3 8 mm screws in my left hip and he noted the steal shaft in the description. but stated above no surgeries. now stated i had no hip displacement. i have a large very visible hip displacement another lie. i was told by an old doctor i need steel rods in my spine for a displaced disk. also very visible by me and my friends let alone a dr. again test was negative. they refused xrays on other parts of my body where i had surgeries and fibula and tibula fractures in both legs steel in left wrist my badly broken ancle. this accident was 20 years ago. i have muscle nots also my military neck is a result where the dr said i had no neck ingury. i had gone to get my results of the xray and i was given a blank disk the first time. (go figure huh) then i looked at them and see all there lies about it all. i confront my dr and said we need to discus this problem with the lies here. and he removed me from his office said in a lette that day he will no longer treat me at the pain clinic for no reasons. i said did you review them xrays he refused to answer. at the local hospital i had gone to they asked me to sing a contract to never go to the hospital and get pain medications as i am there for a broken bone. i said no and its illegal to ask me to sign. under federal law 42usc1395dd emtala not giving me pain medication that day was an act of torture and friends thats criminal acts. and punishable by jail. so these dr have an illegal website they cross check us for being on a list of drug addicts. or why would the hospital ask me out of the blue sky to sign the contract. further i left one dr because one month they gave me medication the next i seen a new substitute dr and she said no medications for you. i said why the other dr seen me and said yes. i asked to speak to a supervisor and she had to agree with her dr and not punish her for refusing me medication. so this is when it started this day. i had gone to a different dr and my primary care dr. and in the office i was stripped down first visit exam the assistent came in told me to get dressed and leave i was not welcome there the dr was not taking new patients. now under law u can only have 2 drs a year and i had to go to the hospital to keep getting my high blood pressure meds. this is immoral not to metion criminal and the DEA and the drs need criminal charges put on them. the DEA are not doctors and this website they share is illegal. for no reason other then some mad ***** dr one day wanted to have a bad day. put me on a list that i cant get off and has cause me endless torture ever since.REPORT COMMENTS

I went 4 months with a 7mm kidney stone stuck in my left ureter, 6 months that I know of with a gallbladder full of stones, it got to the point that when they removed it the surgeon said it was infected. My pancreas now has a 25mmx18mm unknown area and the upper endoscopy ultrasound looks like Swiss cheese. I've had what they told me was IBS for yeArs, incredible pain after eating, terrible diarrhea to the point of proctitis, gastritis and colitis and do you think I can get my doctor to give me pain meds so I can just live a normal life. I only take them when I'm desperate and I've been telling them how bad my pain is with little concern. Something needs to change. Living everyday in terrible pain is incredibly depressing. It isn't fair or ok to leave people the way I've felt for years day in and day out, unable to Sleep because of the pain. Not everyone is a drug addict seeking pain meds to get high. I've never been addicted to anything in my life, I responsibly use medication to help me live a normal life and only take it when I can't function because the pain is so bad I just want to cry all day. People like me need help and compassion not speculation and psych referrals.REPORT COMMENTS
