I am in debilitating pain 24/7! I have been taking the same pain meds 4+ years and recently had an abscessed tooth which compounded the pain/pressure on my jaw! My dentist of 30+ years knows my complete medical history and wrote a different pain medication because my current pain medication was not working. Who is in charge? Why are pharmacies bullying both patients and doctors. Personally, I could care less what any one thinks says or does, however when my quality of life is affected I have to draw the line. I was in too much pain to express my opinion to my pharmacist of 5+ years, however will do so when I feel up to it. According to the current game plan I shall be better after my surgery in about 3 years and I will definitely join in and assist others any way possible God willing:-)Jul 14th, 2015Someone from Santa Rosa, CA signed.

These statements are a desparate call for mercy. This is DISCRIMINATION of the most helpless and poor of all society. I could gp into the details of why I have severe pain every waking minute of every day, but I will just say I share the horror of the many others courageous enough to "live with it" now. For years, I was able to rest at night. I HAD a life- because I could function and contribute to other's lives- when I had good pain management and pain medicine. Why should anyone be forced to endure painful procedures and surgery and then left to suffer? Are we not more merciful to our pets? The patient has no longer a voice. How many people need to suffer or die before this cruelty ends?REPORT COMMENTS

I had five years of medical records, MRIs, nerve tests, seen seven doctors for surgical advice, was basically told I have to live in pain. My original primary doctor decided after five years I was ok, you don't get anymore pain pills, even though I took the drug test every month, even though I never abused or asked for a RX over normal usage, even though I had a nerve test that showed chronic nerve damage over 90% of my body. Like a fool I let this doctor make me sit for three hours every month waiting for him to see me for ten minutes, all because it took me so long to find a doctor that would give me pain medication to begin with here in Florida, what choice did I have? It took me months to find a new doctor, who thankfully, by review of my records and physical exam could tell I was not "A DRUG ADDICT" and actually needed the medication to have some sort of life. I suffer extreme pain every day due to a fall down stairs, which injured my entire spine, and caused chronic nerve damage. I have days I can barely get out of bed or walk. I have had my pharmacy tell me they are out of stock on my pain medication every month. My new doctor even told me good luck getting the RX filled pharmacists are refusing to fill them. I dread the day I can't find a pharmacy to fill my RX, as many others have had happen. As I write this I am holding back tears, this is insane, why must law abiding, tax paying citizens suffer.REPORT COMMENTS

Well with the doctors refusal to treat pain problems it only causes the Drug Cartels to get stronger as patients will look elsewhere for drugs to kill the pain. I find it unconscionable that we have a system that instead of allowing doctors to have the over-site of drugs a patient is on, instead to turn them over to street drugs thereby funneling the money to violent Drug Cartels instead.REPORT COMMENTS

I think a lot of what is being said by so many other people. I think you should be able to see ur family Dr and let him/her treat you as they k ow you best! When you go see pain clinic doctors they think you're only there to get "drugs" when in reality there are other REAL issues going on in your life! Issues that you need something to help you live as close to if not pain free!REPORT COMMENTS

So many ppl are NOT having no quality of life because of someone else's problems.... IF a person is suffering and in pain they should be able to live a pain free life as much as possible... BUT because of the addicts and Drug Seekers alike make it hard for ppl that are truley suffering not be able to obtain medication that was made for ppl in pain..... that is why they make pain medication is to give ppl that are suffering more a more quality life...... and Dr's should be able to write if they feel that the patient is legidimate and needs it they should be free and without duress to write the patient medication and patients should not have to suffer from what actions other ppl have taken !!!REPORT COMMENTS

I am 30 years old and have been diagnosed with MS and spondylosis in my spine. My age coupled with the stigma of prescribing pain medicine means I have had to work twice as hard to get doctors to take my case seriously. For the past ten years I have done everything suggested by my doctors and neurologists. I've had dozens of MRIs, two lumbar punctures, gone to every physical therapy appointment and been prescribed a slew of non-narcotic medications that either did not work or had terrible side effects. It should not be this hard to find relief from my symptoms.REPORT COMMENTS

This is ridiculous that they are letting a government or state entity run or control our medical care. As an adult I can make those decisions. Why don't they make alcohol illegal and persecute all the politicians.REPORT COMMENTS

I have carcinoid cancer. I had it in small intestine, had surgery, didn't get it all and now is in liver inoperable. Can't get the pain meds I need. Doctors are afraid of the new laws. Trying to handle the pain, can't do it much longer. I have served my country never drawn a dime for anything unemployment or anything. Now the country I have loved is driving me to suicide.REPORT COMMENTS

Maybe try to find a better way to protect children who choose to OD on pain meds from even being able to get into the bottles. Do NOT punish those who need and just want to get out of bed and take shower, things which you , the government take for granted, obviously. I watch my mom suffer all day with pain and fight with her doctors to get the proper treatment. When did America become a third world country? Is this a sick joke to kill off the suffering?? Do you really have an "Only the strong will survive", or "It's a dog eat dog world" mentality? And with the recent rise in heroin abuse I would think you would want to prevent that from going up due to your lack of true human empathy for pain patients who are so desperate to not hurt that they mat try that for relief. It is time to start caring again! In this world that is already upside down and just plain evil, you can choose to do the right thing! I just pray you or a loved one will never know what it is like to be disabled and lose your job and barely make it on a tiny check; even after you were a nurse yourself and taking care of others. But I get it, you the elite, have special doctors you pay to have all to yourself. And unlike Michael Jackson or Nicole, most of the people that you hurt are those that built this country on their backs, working what you call a "Blue collar job" and paying the most taxes. But hey it is fine. I will not stand for this country and watch you turn it into some version of Nazi Germany and turn the disabled and elderly into worthless numbers. We deserve to be heard and in JESUS NAME YOU WILL HEAR US! YOU WILL CHANGE THIS HATRED AGAINST US! AND YOU WILL DO THE RIGHT THING because you ARE human too and underneath that cold exterior you HURT TOO!REPORT COMMENTS

I have suffered with Chronic Lyme disease that destroyed my body leading to invasive procedures. I now suffer from an incurable progressive spinal cord disease called Adhesive Arachnoiditis and CRPS causing cancer level pain without the release of death. I will need opiates the rest of my life. I am responsible with my medications and have still been labeled. Allow the doctors to do what they are meant to do...treat. The DEA and Pharmacies need to stay out of the way. I now go to a small hospital pharmacy where they know me. I refuse to use chain pharmacies due to how I have been treated and lied to.REPORT COMMENTS

I have had lower back pain for years. When the first doctor that started treating me passed I had to look for a new one and was treated like a drug addict ,one even smirked at me. I was told I'm going to always hurt , you just have to learn to live with it twice. I haven't been to a doctor in over 3 years now and the pain is so bad it's shooting down the back of my legs but I can't stand the thought of being humiliated again.REPORT COMMENTS

I do understand that there are "dirty" doctors out there just as there are dirty police, lawyers judges, pharmacists, etc etc, but you have the ability to watch these doctors and patients now. The care that most of us get now is much much less than subpar innocent people are resorting to the streets, heroin or suicide and no one in your areas of business give a damn about it. They are then labeled as an over dose. How very sad is that? I hope you all can sleep well because I know damn well that I sure as hell don't. There should be a class action lawsuit against the DEA for sure!!!REPORT COMMENTS
