I had two bouts with my ankle. The 2nd time I went to my pcp and for 6 months she prescribed perks for me. No I had an operation, in a hard cast for 2 months already, and she's shutting me off. My pain flairs up certain times of the day. She knows I have 6 months experience with how to manage it. I feel like it is their responsibility. When going into surgery the nurse showed the smileys saying "we want your pain to be down here (#2). People heal faster then. ANd they offer you 2 oxy every 3 hours. Then to nothing. Doesn't make any sense.

This should be on the news every broadcast . How people are made to suffer . I guess it's probably censored from America , that the governing powers like to hurt their fellow Americans. Stop the suffering and act like well adjusted people who care about voters .

I really do believe that all people involved need to be psychologically evaluated. You may have a mental problem and are not making rash decisions. You are harming fellow Americans. Is that what America has become . That should also be a law any person running for public office needs to be psychologically evaluated. You use a a pen to make people suffer and die. Pens should be outlawed , and or regulated.

Well I'm at it , all people who hold any public office should have any and all medicines they take publicly posted. You all seem to know my medical history . We should know yours . There is no more rights to privacy . Let us decide if you should be taking your medicines , and if you are medically able to serve .

All and I mean all public officials lawyers judges and people who hold any public office should all be drug tested . If they drink they are alcoholics if they smoke they are addicts , if they take blood pressure medicine they are drug dependant . They should not have those jobs . No matter if it is insulin or depression medicine , because you are drug dependant . Why have doctors? I did not choose my illness. And to be untreated for it is a crime .

As a nurse I have tried to make a stand. Patients aren't in the ICU without cause. It is horrifying to watch a patient suffer on a ventilator because the pharmacy is watching everything. I chose to do the ethical thing and medicate. I stayed within the confines of the orders however because I medicate more than all the other nurses I'm being accused of diversion. I've proven twice by taking their test that I was not. Now I have to worry that they will accuse me of stealing and selling the drugs because I can't give a dirty sample. It is a witch hunt. I hate what my profession has become and it disgusts me that more of us aren't standing up. When I first became a nurse you had to give the patient all they wanted. That created this wave of junkies. The board of pharmacy is going to be responsible for the next wave but its going to be legitimate patients they are refusing to help now. I can tell you that if you are able to make big donations and build hospital wings you can get anything you want.

No one considers the fact that a chronic pain suffer doesnt have the luxury of a 24 hour clock. A heslthy person with regular circumstances can consistanly sleep 6 to 8 hours a night out of the 24 hour day. When you suffer from chronic pain because of an autoimmune disorder, the symptoms are exacerbated by the lack of sleep. Now back to the 24 hour clock. I dont have a 24 hour clock. My day cannot fit on a 24 hour clock. It is a calendar. I can stay up for months at a time. no sleep. My immune system gets so angry and attacks my joints and internal organs. Injections do not work on me. I have begged my doctor to cut the tissues directly involved in a muscle spasm. They wont do it. My focus this year has been to get surgery to fix the primary cause of the immediate pain that that Im experiencing right now. I used to have flareups. Now this is chronic severe pain that will not go away. All the discs in my neck are bulging. c3-4 herniated. T5-6 herniated and the subarachnoid cyst that was just contained in my vertebrae and noted stenosis and was putting pressure on my spinal cord has found a way out of the I call my spine is now partying in an open wound in my skin directly exposing my spinal cord to infection. I had an seizure and woke up in ICU. I had no idea why I was there. This was a month ago and I finally get to see the nerologist for the first time since this happened. You didnt ask but Im going to tell you anyway. Spinal cord itches. If you get too close to the nerve and try to gently scratch it without disturbing the skin it will send a shock and fire down your back. (the nerosugeon doesnt consider this an emergency) My blood pressure goes from extreme to the other and brachial pain is so bad, especially when you work in a call center. I have tried to take the meds exactly as prescribed. I have given up. No one thinks any of the cysts or ruptures and herniations are worth the surgery I have vmbeen begging for. Get this. My EMG shows my pain and nerve latency issues are on my right side and the MRI's show obvious severe damage on the left side. (logic tells me the EMG and MRI dont line up because the pain is caused from multiple locations in my spine). Im not comitting suicide. Im bekng slowly murdered by patient profiling. I wanted surgery because I didnt want to be dependant on any medications for quality of life. Im do frustrated.

I am 42 years old and have suffered with sever chronic lower back pain since I was 18 years old from a head on collision. I dealt with the pain with out any medication while operating and running my two businesses from 18 till I was 34. I had a construction company with 46 employees and a Landscaping & Design company that employed 12 plus employees. I at the age of 34&1/2 started on pain management due to my pain restricting me from standing, walking, and driving little lone running both my companies. I at 41 was forced to let all of my 46 employees go from my construction company and bring on a partner to run my landscaping company based on my pain and the lack of medication that my doctor for now nine years due to the facts of the change in laws which has my doctor feared that he could have issues with the DEA. So not only has this caused me problems with controlling my pain, this has also effected 41 people and their families financially as well as my life plans. I have been forced to go back to school to get a degree in Computer Science which I am 19 months away from getting my masters, again costing me over $80,000.00 dollars so that I can work. I up tell the changes effecting my pain plan I was going to build houses and commercial buildings till I was 55 and then retire early as everyone in my family has been able to do, now I have been struggling to finish my schooling and start working in IT Cyber Security which means that I will not be able to retire early, that is if I don"t have to go onto disability first. Please keep in mind that this is just my working abilities that I have talked about, I also have a 12 year old son that I have trouble playing sports with, taking him fishing, and boating, etc as well as my six Akitas that I have a hard time playing with and feeding without help, working my 10 acre farm with I have had to limit our animals as well as having to call in people to fix and keep up maintenance costing me money. These are all things that I was more than able to do while on the original pain plan that I was on for over six years until these new changes and treats from the government. I also have been forced to give up my hobbies such as skiing every weekend during the winter and deep-sea fishing or racing my boats, riding my atv's, hunting, even traveling is a issue now. I need to have help in the shower, using the bathroom, and even driving for more than 45 minutes at a time requires my paying someone if my fiance is not able to drive me. This is not helping me be a productive member in my community. I would like to top this off with one last thing, I am a first responder and have worked with FEMA since I was 24 years old which is something that I loved, helping people that needed help. I can only do clerical work as a first responder now. This is to bad, I will be on disability by the time I am 45 probably!

Sad that I've unknowing been taking antidepressants for months now with out any guidance from my Pain Management Doctor. No patient in the United States should have to sign a contract allowing our doctors to prescribe drugs with out our knowledge or guidance. This is dangerous and a crime!!! Understanding why the doctor is willing to do this is simple, because the new and improved suggested long term drug for chronicle pain has no generic and cost four hundred percent more than the medication I've been on for six years. Surely the kick back to him is a nice bonus. Due to not receiving a medication that helps with my pain and live a productive life, I've had to go on government disability and now the tax payers of this county are once again paying for this senseless mistake. Treat pain with medication that allows people to continue life not with medications that effects the brain by changing the way it thinks of pain. These antidepressants are making me hate life and still don't help with pain and cause additional health problems. Such as weight gain, infections, immune system problems, muscle flutters, headaches, rashes, brain deadness and give me a big pocket full of I don't give a dang about nothing.

I have seveal conditions causing chronic pain. I have been dealing with chronic pain since I was 18 years old. I am now 31. My chronic pain has affected every part of my life. I was finally was able to reach so "normal" life events. I got married, finished my associates degree, and got my first real job. I was able to do this because my pain was finally kept under control. The pain is not completely good, but managable. I have many plans for my future. For example, I would like to get my Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD. I can make a difference if in this world, if my pain is kept under control. However it is becoming increasing more difficult to get my medication. Please don't take my medication away and sentence me to a life in bed, instead of out in the world. I suggest that you talk to doctors and chronic pain suffers before you make things more difficult for people who are truly ill.

I am in chronic pain due to having fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, along with several spinal problems!! I have to work a 40 hour a week job to support myself. I need my pain medication in order to do this!! Without medication I would have to be on disability instead of being a tax paying worker. Please understand that I don't want to take these medications, I NEED to take them to function!! Thank you for your time and attention.

Please stop tying Drs hands. I have a right to at least some quality of life. That unfortunately means I need pain mes. Thank you, Kim

Quality of life is extremely important to those living with chronic severe pain. To be able to take a medication that at least reduces the debilitating effects of this pain can be life changing. Most patients of this type of pain are responsible and should be treated as such. Without the pain meds, life is over for most and all that they cherish in their golden years.

I moved to another state 3 months ago and can't find help w/my prescriptions. I've been bed ridden for two weeks in so much pain. I was able to do every day things. That's over for now. No shower, no taking care of my child, what am I supposed to do?! I've tried all the non narcotic meds, don't work. Saw a Dr yesterday who just wants to inject prednisone into my spine which I've also done and doesn't help. It seems to me that because I'm in pain it's better that I end my own life than to be a burden on others. That's the only message I've been getting since I moved here.

After 6 years of demoralizing, accusations, ripping the very heart out of pain victims without cause.....no decrease in the drug problem they SAY the country has. How many of us must suffer to fulfill some idiots, that has to answer to none in Washington, that has no clue what pain is. No decrease in the illegal pills...6 years. Look at what is in front of you. But I know you. You will not admit defeat. You cant treat innocent pain victims like criminals and it not come back to you. And you know well that you have.
