Are any of you elected representatives doctors ? Do any of you elected representatives suffer from chronic pain ? You do not own me , yet , you enslave me to the tortures of chronic pain . You are un American , you are discriminating against the disabled with nerve damage , you are denying medical intervention . We the United States citizens ignored by you the elected representatives had to reach out to the United Nations because of the torture you have enslaved us to , they have listened they said your phony war on drugs is a failure , you should take heed . We shall not re-elect those who would impose torture and Genocide on its own people . Fix your errors undo this hate crime against United States Citizens with nerve damage .

The Gov't is becoming Big Brother and deciding who is in pain and who isn't. Like everything else in the United States who are these people to decide anyones fate.....

I became extremely sick back in 2006, after returning from a cruise to Mexico after hurricane Katrina. My life totally change, I started having tremors and weakness with pain through out my body. Several test were done and I had high levels of arsenic and bismuth in my system. They eventually found a tumor wHicham had grown from a black olive to a grapefruit in 3 months on my thymus gland. I was in ICU for 1 wk and hospitalized for 6. After rehabilitation I fought to get out of a wheelchair but my pain and weakness continued. The Dr's were stumped and suggested a muscle biopsy and was found that I have Mitochondrial Myopathy on top of Myasthenia Gravis. For 4 yrs I had a morphine pump implanted in which controlled my pain in which was monitored by my dr. The only downside was my body rejected the pump and it had several recalls. Now, it's controlled by other source of morphine. This is the only way I can live the rest of my life in comfort and enjoy my family. I don't know how long I have to live but I know that if they take my meds away, I won't live to see tomorrow. The pain and withdrawal would be unbearable. I'm not an addict I'm a patient, sick and need my drs and my medications. God bless.

I deal with chronic pain every day. Doctors are so afraid you might take one extra pill, you are labeled a junky if you do. The doctors don't care about those of us that suffer.

Legally prescribed medications are not the problem. Chronic pain patients take their medications under the careful supervision of their doctor, no other oversight is needed. Every chronic pain patient has a basic human right not to be in constant physical pain.

I'v'e had CRPS for 2 1/2 years. I've had sympathetic nerve blocks done six times without success, I've had radiofrequency abilation which made it worse (didn't think that way possible), I had a series of shots around my left foot which ended up giving me wounds which ended up having me at a wound center once a week for 8 weeks. That was a horror, but I won't get into that. I have gone to two different physical therapist, which again made the pain worse. I think by now you should be getting the picture - nothing works on CRPS patients. So what do we do, well I go to my pain management doctor once a month to see how I'm doing. I wear a butrane patch which I change once a week and I take percoset to I can function like a real person does. Does it help.......sometimes it helps to take the edge off the pain. You see I have it in my left foot up to and including my ankle and it has spread into my right foot covering all my toes. How do I get around, most of the time I don't. I have to rely on other people to help me out. When there's no one around and I have to go to the doctor, I wear boots, not the fashionable type, the type people wear when they've had surgery, on both feet. I was suppose to be part of one of the trials last summer but I found out I not have chronic kidney function. Wonderful. I don't think you understand, we someone like me and the rest of the chronic pain patients take pain medication it's not to get high - it's to be able to get out of bed. For some it's to be able to take care of their children, husbands, and where there's no husband around because he was a coward, get their kids fed, and out to the bus so they can go to school........This disease, CRPS is constant pain 24/7 - if you take our medication away from us either two things will happen 1, there will be more suicides and 2. you're going to force people to go to street drugs. I doubt that's what you want!!!! PLEASE RETHINK WHAT YOU'RE DOING. IT'S NO CRIME TO ADMIT YOU'RE WRONG - IN FACT YOU'LL OBTAIN MORE RESPECT BY UNDOING A WRONG AND MAKING IT A RIGHT!!!!!!! Just remember - PATIENTS - NOT - ADDICTS

It's ridiculous that good doctors are being punished for the actions of a few irresponsible individuals. If a patient is in pain, they SHOULD be treated. Plain and simple.

I've lived with pain for over 25 years & have taken pain medication for most of those years .ln Dec. I was fired,(abandoned) by my Dr of 30 years. For the first time in my life I know how it feels to be discriminated against.most of all I feel shame ,as if I committed a crime. I know I should not feel that way because in all those years I followed the rules,1 Doctor, 1 pharmacy. Now I must resign myself to live with the pain of Seclroderma,Fibromyalgia,& Breast Cancer. With no hope of ever spending a day free of pain & I am hanging on by a thread of strength.
