I am a 16 year cancer survivor who would not have lasted 6 months without proper treatment. I have been healthy and productive since, but have recently been diagnosed with a recurrance of the old cancer. This time I have caught it early and with proper treatment I should have another 15-20 years of productive life. As an oncology nurse, I see first hand the financial difficulties patients and their families encounter during treatment. Yes, we have to cut cost somewhere, but consider those people who aren't able to work, but would like to, and support them during cancer treatment so they can get back to work.REPORT COMMENTS
