This law is outdated and ridiculous! Cubans have no reason to come here. They are not at war! We do not need or want more economic migrants. Send them back to Cuba and immediately repeal this stupid, stupid law.

Everyone knows how this policy is abused. They are not political refugees anymore. They are economic refugees. They visit their country after a year! there is a humanitarian crisis over this and there will be more than 8,000 more Cubans coming from Mexico that were held in Central America. is a new Mariel. Stop the madness!!! STOP IGNORING THIS!

I have seen the hypocrisy of some Cubans that not only feel entitled to these benefits, they also use them to go back to Cuba to after a year or two to visit family and friends left behind and take money and clothes to them courtesy of our tax payers money. I worked with one Cuban man who purposely had another baby with his wife to get the government assistance money of the kid, plus the money his older kid already got. A month after they baby was born, and which marked two years of receiving permanent resident status, the family took the trip back to Cuba to present the baby to their family. And he's not the only one I know. There's another who even boasts of how he gets government cash and uses that to take routine trips to Cuba. This is a joke and a mockery to thousands of central American immigrants who do have extremely dire conditions in their home countries that are being savagely destroyed by vicious gangs, where people are forced to evict their homes and desperately need to cross illegally because staying a minute longer and coming here "the right way" would mean being shot to death or beheaded, raped or kidnapped in broad daylight. Coming here not only means a better future for themselves but it can help save the lives of their families by providing money to meet the sick demands of the maras until the family can be somewhere safe. But when they come here they are not only vilified and branded as criminals, they don't get a single buck from the government or any special accommodations. And most, if not all, central Americans don't want or feel entitled to any govt assistance. They have always worked back home and that's the one thing they come looking here. Jobs. They work the "lowly" jobs US citizens and Cubans consider beneath them and have no choice but to accept the measly pay. The only thing they want is the opportunity for a legal status so they won't have the fear of deportation looming over them and their families. So they won't have the risk of dying the week they get back home. Central Americans, specifically Hondurans, Salvadorans, and Guatemalans, have bigger problems with these terrorist thugs that are MS and M18 and the asphyxiating corrupt governments that annex themselves with organized crime, drug cartels and the increasing levels of poverty, pollution, deforestation, plus other numerous social problems like lack of adequate healthcare, little or void women's reproductive rights/health access because of a still hard grip of the Catholic church in society and government and constant human rights violations, than any "political persecution" in Cuba as of now. These people are indeed refugees in every extent of the word but most asylum petitions are rejected! And what does the US do after that? Gives Cubans freebies! It's an atrocious travesty. Cubans and their situation are no longer special or in peril. The US govt needs to modify this Cuban Adjustment Act or eliminate it completely. And this policy is absurd. Right now,

They come here not as political refugees. They come here because they know what freebies they can get. Violence and insecurity has grown in south florida. Its time to stop the madness. They get jobs that are denied to legal citizens. I see it every day at the airport. Have some consideration for your legal citizens.

Cubans should be welcome to live but not under preferential treatment and the automatic qualification for tax payer funded public assistance must stop. They should be made to go thorough the process as other immigrants. Our veterans don't get this preferential treatment! I have yet to read about a veteran who scammed Medicare as the governor of Florida did and as some Cubans have done!

This kind of preferential treatment is not only discriminatory but entirely unfair to thousands of children brought here illegally, without their intention and consent but yet they receive no exception to the law. How can Congress support this level of hypocrisy? An individual brought here at 8 months old, who is raised in America, who holds american values, who speaks only English, and is by all measures AMERICAN, is denied legs status but an individual who is born and raised in Cuba and manages (with much difficulty of course) to get to America is AUTOMATICALLY given legs standing? Is that what we as a people believe in? And yet we turn away thousands of people seeking political and war time refuge much worse than what is experienced in Cuba? This legislations makes a mockery of our immigration system.

We are allowing people into our country without visas, we do not, know who they are. This group does a lot of fraud, many have stolen and returned to Cuba. Many are criminals. They refuse to integrate into society.

I'm Cuban American and the policy is being abused. It is unfair and exploitive. These people will return to a place that was so bad they had to flee. Many people visit Cuba and it is far less oppressive than many countries that we do not have this policy towards.
