This policy encourages illegal immigration and is not fair. I'm against illegal immigration and I think that Cubans shouldn't be given automatic amnesty whereas Mexicans are living in a war-zone and get crapREPORT COMMENTS

They think miami is Cuba, they feel that they don't need to learn English. The ate rude because they feel that they are entitled. They live off cash, food and meds. Where as an American or any other immigrant its difficult for them and us. They hire their own people for jobs. Its hard to get a job because requirement shows you need yo speak Spanish or its preferred. Dade county seems so far from broward county. My dad use to day you need to get a passport to come here. Visiting is nice bit living in it is not.REPORT COMMENTS

This policy encourages smuggling which usually goes uninvestigated and unprosecuted simply because many law enforcement and public officials are Cubans; it also endangers the public since hard core criminals can easily enter the US without background checks. This policy does not benefit the us.REPORT COMMENTS

This policy is outrageous. My tax dollars go to providing 10,000 to people who came over here without going through the legal process. This has been going on for decades and it's time to put an end to this. I doubt that Sen Marco Rubio will acknowledge this though. Being the fact that I have paid fees and done all the paperwork legally on behalf of my significant other completely underminds my loyalty to the law and it completely undermines all those other applicants who did things THE RIGHT WAY. Things are backwards here. We reward shortcuts and tax and thumb those that follow the rules. You have no idea how many businesses in this state ask their workers, "you wanna work on or off the books?" Of course they choose off the books and when there's an inspection, those workers don't come to work because ... there not on the books. So 10000 plus tax free money plus a greencard and citizenship application in 3 years... sounds like the shaft to all those that sacrifice their hard earned money that goes to a system that throws that money into a burnpit. I guess it truly is like the saying goes, "It's better to do something wrong and ask for forgiveness later rather than ask prior." Wait did I just come up with a way to help the deficit here??? Stop giving handouts, use taxes the right way. Frustration in this message... You bet, because I have gone through the legal process of the USCIS and after paying nearly 4500 in fees and seeing those fees go to those who illegally crossed over aggrivates me and many others. Easy way to solve this... Lower the ridiculous fees to something reasonable that people in host nations can afford, give them an ITIN or SSN so that they are "ON THE BOOKS AND TRACEABLE" that way taxes are being paid and money is being brought back to our economy and not squandered.REPORT COMMENTS

This policy only helps the Castro regime remain in power since people looking for a better life know that it's easier to find it in the US than to fight for it back home. Not only do they receive automatic US residency in one year but receive aid from day one.REPORT COMMENTS

You have tax paying American who work hard barely making a living and when we apply for any type of assistance we have to jump through hoops. Illegal immigrants come from Cuba and get everything no questions asked. They haven't contributed anything to social security, paid taxes and all the other deductions taken out of our hard earned paychecks. American politicians don't care about the people, their main concern is votes. All immigrants should receive the same treatment with no exceptions.REPORT COMMENTS

This policy does nothing but add to the smuggling is taking place. The real boat refugees come over dehydrated, sunburned and looking ragged. How is it that in December 2014 and January 2015 Cubans get to Miami looking like someone just dropped them off at the beach? Does anybody know the going rate per head? Who benefits the most from this policy? Cubans are not fleeing because they're being persecuted, they're fleeing because they have nothing to eat. If that is the case, then let Haitians come to Miami. At least they try to assimilate and learn English. This law is being abused.REPORT COMMENTS

I am all for legal immigration, as long as they are working and paying taxes. If they are being given money, it is wrong because too many of our own Americans need help first. That is why our older Americans are suffering, because the money goes to illegal immigrants (I better say perhaps, not to be in trouble). Our young children are suffering because money that should be helping them out (and not all of them), but it should definitely not be going to illegals. The rest of us are paying for the illegals, and that is simply not fair.....also our military personal and our veterans need help before any illegal immigrants gets a penny!!!!!!!!of our hard working tax money!!!!!!!!REPORT COMMENTS
