Please stop changing times, it ruins the day for the average worker who gets home at 5PM. It is an outdated system that farmers donot even use anymore.

Adjusting the clocks forward (or back) an hour does more than just mess up your sleep. The disturbance to your circadian rhythm ? or body clock ? also appears to have an impact on your heart. Research presented at the American College of Cardiology's 63rd Annual Scientific Session noted a 25 percent increase in the number of heart attacks on the Monday after the clocks move ahead ? or "spring forward" ? and we lose an hour, compared with other Mondays during the year. By contrast, there is a 21 percent decrease in the number of heart attacks on the Tuesday in the fall after the clocks "fall back" and we gain an hour. The sleep disruption from the spring time change is stressful to the body, which researcher Hitinder Gurm, M.D., an interventional cardiologist and associate professor at the University of Michigan, believes can trigger a heart attack in susceptible patients. "We live in a sleep-deprived society and these data indirectly suggest that even small disturbances in sleep can be deleterious for health," Gurm says.

This is an archaic practice when farming was the only major source of livelihood and the cities contributed little to keeping people employed. It is certainly time for the schedule disrupting and aggravating medieval law to go.

DLS has been proven to have a negative impact on people's health and safety. I can't think of any good reason to keep it, but there are many valid reasons why it should be abolished. I am asking that you take this burden off the citizens of this country. Since it is your duty to protect the citizens and this rule harms people this really should be a no brainer.

Please get rid of Daylight Saving Time in Missouri! It is actually "fake time", why would we vote to keep it? Why would we not keep REAL TIME that is the actual time instead?? I do not like LOSING an hour every day when Daylight Saving Time rolls around....I do not see it as gaining an hour of light at night.... it is NIGHT, it is supposed to be dark then, however, it is not supposed to be dark in the morning. It being dark in the morning when we are getting up for work, tricks our brains into thinking it is still "night" and so we are more tired and drag along all day.... Big Deal I can stay up until 9 PM without turning a light on, that means my brain thinks it is day and why should I be going to bed? It's insanity to continue this. Please abolish.

I have commented already and sent the petition, but after learning that some people actually want to make DST *permanent* I have to write again. That might work in the South, but in the northern tier or two or states it would be a permanent disaster. The only decent way to stop clock-changing is not to extend DST further but to abolish it. Here in North Dakota, evenings are very beautiful, but they are practically nonexistent for humans because the sun doesn't go down until after ten at night, and most people have to go to bed before it's dark. Starting DST in March is terrible because people have to get up when it is pitch dark. Let's put a stop to this madness and get back to natural time, where the sun is always overhead at noon, and midnight is really halfway between sunset and sunrise. Now that air conditioning uses more electricity than lights, daylight saving time doesn't save energy, it uses more. Even if you consider only lights, people who get up in the dark are going to turn them on. It may have been useful during World War II, but now it makes no sense at all. Give us Northerners our evenings back. North Dakota isn't the only sate in the northern tier, where this practice hurts, not helps us, and the harm extends farther south than just the northern tier. End "Daylight Saving Time" (which doesn't save daylight, energy, or anything else) once and for all.

I agree completely. Now that air conditioning uses more energy than lights, DST actually increases energy consumption in the summer, when people come home from work earlier, when it is hotter, and use a/c longer. DST in early March is ridiculous, especially if we still consider lights a major use for electricity. People get up while it is still dark - and turn on the lights. It is time to stop this outdated madness indeed. If our new President does one positive thing, I hope this will be it.

Daylight savings time in early March? That's really stupid! Congress passed this stupid law in 2005 in order to battle a energy crisis. It was useless on the energy front and harmful on the health front. Every year since 2007 I had to witness my son's struggle with the time switch in March. In today's world Daylight savings time does not save much but cost a lot. It should be abolished or moved back to April when it is easier for people to get up earlier.

I remember the first time I heard about DST...It was a dreary late January morning in the outskirts of Cumberland, Maine. A quaint, coastal town that stretches from West Cumberland bordering Windham, to Cumberland Foreside on Casco Bay. It has beautiful ocean views of the and an excellent family restaurant, Louie's Grille. I must say the West Cumberland Burger is a must have! The restaurant's logo reminds me of Scooby Doo. I like to think that each of us are Scooby Doos in our own way. We each have this thing called life and are trying to solve its mystery. Of course we get sidetracked with other things that may pop up in our life and journey down avenues that may take us off the path of solving the mystery of what the purpose of our life is. During this morning, I remember I was looking out from the coastline into the prestine ocean view, even though I was freezing my knickers off, and all I could think was "What do we really know about this ocean?" I mean do we even know all of the creatures that inhabit this vast space of dihydrogen monoxide? Do we even know where Ariel is at with her Mermen? Perhaps, the ocean is left a mystery on purpose, just like our good friend Scooby Doo's life. When thinking about all these philosophical questions, I began collecting debris that had washed up from the ocean. I came across a bottle cap. It made me think wabout what my Grandpa used to say "Son, if you ever find a bottle cap, you flip it in the air and yell save me Poseidon, you are the last resort in this world of hellish dry land" So I did just that and nothing happened. I then went to a nearby dock to try and figure why my Grandpa would say such a thing. Was it because he had dementia and had no idea what he was saying at the time? Was it because I was destined to reign with Poseidon and he would take me at his right hand man once the bottle cap was flipped? All of a sudden, a older woman came up to me and shouted "Get your hotdogs!" I was extremely hungry at this point after all of this contemplating. I gave her $3000 for a hotdog to show her my genoristy and my carelessness with money. She offered me the whole stand and I said no, we all have different life mysteries and I can't disrupt you solving yours as a hot dog lady. I scrafed down my dawg and thoroughly enjoyed the sweet saltiness of the mixed meat snack. I had to quench my thirst, so I got a sprite and sipped that puppy down. I headed back into town and decided to visit the local seamstress to repair my alumni hoody. I am a proud graduate of The Pennsylvania State University New Kensington Campus of the Commonwealth College with a degree in Political Science. I enjoyed my college experience and treasure the hoody I have more than my own family and dog Skippers. So, I visted Sewing and Alterations by Debbie. She was great and fixed a couple tears in my hoody. I payed her $500 dollars to show her my vast wealth. She enjoyed that! I roamed the streets for a while after at that and realized DST was in March and I better start preparing.
