If DST is so effective at reducing energy consumption, why not observe it year round? It is a farce! Hourly shift workers get paid for an hour not worked in the spring and overtime for the extra hour worked in the fall. They are the only benefactors of the system. The disruption of family routines and the increased accident rate with each change is reason enough to abandon DST. -

Please end DST. Think of how this disrupts the sleeping schedules of children. We live in an era where this is no longer necessary.REPORT COMMENTS

Please in this nonsense. It makes no sense to set the clocks forward for only eight months out of the year. So please send daylight savings time. The benefits will be pretty amazing.REPORT COMMENTS

Indiana had one good thing going for it until sometime in the mid 200's when the powers that be decided to hop on the Daylight Savings time wagon. Mid-west we're central and eastern and we should not have to compromise to comply with the rest of the states. I mean, we turn red first and our former governor is burning all of the Planned Parenthood locations down like Sherman did with Atlanta. Give us our one thing that I loved about this state back!!REPORT COMMENTS

PLEASE end day light saving time. It messes with medication schedules. It messes with sleep. Kids have to walk to school in the morning darkness. I could go on and on. The longer days in the summer provide plenty of light in the evenings on standard time.REPORT COMMENTS

Please stop daylight savings. It is really hard to adjust to time change, especially if you already work early hours or your child goes to school already at 7:30am and then he needs to be at school at 6:30am. It is hard on little children and older people, because they are used to eat and take medications at certain time. It takes extra absolutely unnecessary adjustments. Life is already complicated please do not complicate it more. Me and my son literally suffering for couple months every time they change the time.REPORT COMMENTS

I hate DST - What are we saving for 8 months out of the year? I would bet it costs businesses tons of money every time we spring forward or fall back. What's the purpose of being on Standard Time for only 4 months out of the year only to "spring forward" in March! Maybe it's time to move to HI, AZ or one of the US territories!REPORT COMMENTS

Do you know how many other planets in the solar system have Daylight Savings Time? Zero. That's right. Our big blue ball is the only one that uses this archaic system. And guess what? We're a lot closer to the sun (aka DAYLIGHT) than most other planets in this system. That means we get a lot more daylight than most other planets, and we're still stingy enough to want more. We keep searching for intelligent life on other planets. If we keep using this antiquated system, there won't be any intelligent life here either. Venusians and Martians are just laughing at us while our kids are waiting for the school bus in the dark and we lose sleep due to our messed up Kardashian rhythms. So come on Earth, let's stop being the laughingstock of the Milky Way and end the madness.REPORT COMMENTS

The original reasons given for using daylight savings time were: 1. "It gives the farmers an extra hour to work their crops and a longer amount of time to harvest". There are fewer and fewer private farms in this country. The extra time is no longer a factor in food production. Most farming is done by large corporations that have the means and equipment to grow and harvest crops and tend to and raise livestock around the clock. This argument is no longer valid. 2. "It helps America conserve energy". Although energy conservation is extremely important, there is no documented proof of daylight savings time helping to conserve energy. If anything, it uses more energy due to longer periods of daylight which causes people to run air conditioners longer than they normally would in the summer, and heaters heat in the late spring and early fall. 3. It interrupts the human body's Circadian rhythm, causing irregular sleep patterns. Bottom line, it's just not healthy. We need to get rid of this outdated policy and return to more normal living.REPORT COMMENTS
