It is ridiculous that we still have daylight savings time. Just as everyone's bodies are naturally adapting to the clock, it changes and throws everyone off. It does not save energy. I can attest to the fact that it negatively impacts our family of four every time it occurs.REPORT COMMENTS

This is how to stop DST: fall back 30 minutes this fall, and then leave it alone forever! Split the difference, right? I tell you that my daughter is the picture of "not a morning person". At ten years old, she is a great student, bright and cheerful from about 8 am on from August through to February. Then "spring forward" destroys our household for weeks. While I find DST quite an annoyance, concerning my daughter and countless other persons who already find waking up a barely tolerable intrusion each day DST is a nightmare. My daughter can't convince her body to go to sleep an hour earlier. I have a terrible time waking her in the morning. Then even though she is standing, she doesn't move. She is almost in a sleepwalking state of foggy awareness. She is not the only one. Studies have been done. This is one piece of proposed legislation that I have never heard a single soul speak against. Who needs DST? End the madness. Respect biorhythms and sleep patterns and parents sanities. Let our children sleep soundly. Why do this any longer?REPORT COMMENTS

Day Light saveings time is insane , serves no purpose except to disrupt schedules every six months . For people that take meds at a certain time each day time change comes with hazards . There is 24 hours in a day no mater when you start it .REPORT COMMENTS

As a sleep researcher, I believe this is one of the best things our govt could do for the health of all people. Consider just permanently changing our clocks to DST. No more twice a year adjustments.REPORT COMMENTS

It's the worst possible thing for children, and their parents, and their teachers. The idea that there are more daylight shopping hours is insane, and I'd like to see proof of more shopping being done... Same goes for less energy/electricity used. In higher latitudes specifically, it doesn't make a BIT of difference - the sun is up 6am-10pm in the summer and 8am-4pm in the dead of winter. If we wouldn't change time it would be up 5am-9pm. Big deal! It's TOO MUCH TROUBLE and hardship just for a slight sunshine change. Make it go away!REPORT COMMENTS
