I am sick of this! Not ony are you wasting billions of dollars you are torturing these beautiful creatures. What's the issue, grazing rights, water rights? For what you are spending to terrify these poor animals whose lives have been destroyed, you could feed and water them thus keeping the cattle ranchers happy. WHAT ARE YOU THINKING???? SALAZAR AND THE BLM SHOULD BE PUT IN JAIL FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY.

The round up and destruction of wild horses and burros is an intolerable act of cruelty! To cause the extinction of any wild animal, to further the ranching industry is wrong. To pay for it with federal funding/tax dollars is insane! Stop this act of inhumane and unjustified killing. Thank you

Why is it that every specie of life outside of the human race is disrespected, challenged, and killed? What gives us the right to take their homes, families, and lives? If we are a supreme being, then let's be a kind and intelligent one. Do NOT allow wild horses of America be destroyed this way. It's a horrible example for the world to see, and you can be sure that every horse lover in this world is watching.

I agree with many people that these round-ups are unnecessary and that there's other options out there. Our government shouldn't allow corporate ranchers and oil companies to fence off water supplies and grazing acreage. Herd control shouldn't be controlled in a manner where they're chased to death by Helicopters. Also, the holding facilities don't meet BLM requirements for eligible Wild Mustang adopters which is a double standard. All of which is being funded at the tax payer's expense which in our contry's economical state is a huge waste of our tax dollars. We could make millions of people happy while saving millions of tax payer's dollars and thousands of Wild Mustangs by simply releasing the Mustangs into santuaries provided by private individuals such as Madeleine Pickens. Some issues are black and white, this is one of them. What our government is doing is wrong along with a ray of other issues. We have a lot to fix in this nation, our elected officials need to start somewhere...why not here?

These round-ups are not necessary. there are other options out there if the Govt would just stop being greedyl. That Land Rightfully belongs to the Wild Horses and Burros. If the Govt and the Ranchers and the Oil men would stop fencing off there water supply and feed for cattle and piplines they would be fine to live where they belong with some herd control in a manner where they are not chased to death by Helicopters and man. There is so much money wasted in our tax dollars now for the way they are tring to solve the problem. Govt is just creating more problems by housing them in LTF at the tax payers expense and it is not right to SLAUGHTER them either

We HAVE to stop these unnecessary roundups of our wild horses and burros across the western states! The BLM has totally failed in their "management" of our wild ones. As Congressman Dan Burton agreed in his address on the House floor January 24, 2011, we need to stop this HUGE waste of MILLIONS of dollars, of taxpayer money into this broken BLM program. Finally, we have someone in Washington willing to speak up and take a stand for our wild horses and burros, and at the same time, speak the truth about the wasted $$$ and the failed way the BLM manages our horses. He also spoke of Madeleine Pickins' proposed eco-santuray and felt this was a very good alternative to what the BLM is currently doing and he could not understand how the BLM would turn it down. Under the current BLM practices, there will be only a handful of wild horses and burros living free on the open rangelands, and those, will not be able to reproduce because of the fertility vaccines the BLM administers to the few horses the DO release. So, it is obvious that some MAJOR changes need to be made with the current way the BLM is operating. If left as it is, ALL of the nation's wild horses will be living in confined pastures (paid for by taxpayers) in the Midwest and back east for the rest of their lives. It will be an extinction of our wild mustangs on the open range, the living symbols of the true American West and a huge part of our Nation's heritage! That would be a total shame and especially since they are supposed to be protected by federal law! So, we must stop these roundups now, before it's too late and at the same time, save MILLIONS of dollars of taxpayer's money.

I am dissapointed that the BLM and Salazars explanation is being accepted without investigation. The wild horse populations are already so thin that it is hard to ever see one. BLM says that the horses are sick and starving. This is a lie. They are now after the cruel roundups which killed hundreds. We the people know that the sole reason for the roundups are the laying of pipelines by BP, and the cattle ranchers want the water for their cattle. If they intend to make our mustangs extinct in the wild, they should just admit it. Madeliene Pickens (a billionaire land owner) has offered her thousands of acres for an eco sanctuary, where the wild horses being held in holding pens, totalling 38,000 could be released. Why are BLM and Slazar denying this release?? I agree that birth controll may be necessary, but please stop the roundups with helicopters. To see the dead foals, with their hooves hanging off must be shown to the general public. We will not tollerate this. Ana Morris

1964 Wildness Protection Act had it right. The land is for its indigenous animals. Send the cattle to slaughter and give that land back to the people's Mustangs.

Our wild horses and burros were suppose to be protected, but sadly they are not. Remove the cattle. and let our public lands go back to the horses and burros. I have yet to see one thin or malnourished horse in any of the pictures taken from any of the BLM that have happened already. Please, stop the roundups. Please listen to what we the people want. I'm sure if the numbers are crunched, you will see that more people want to save our horses and burros from being rounded up.

When our Country is in dire need to clean up wasted tax dollars and yet millions are being spent on rounding up our Wild Horses when there is no need, this needs to be investigated, thoroughly.

This fills me not with the pride, honor, and True Spirit that America stands for, but with head hanging shame and heart ache that such unconscionable behavior is allowed to go unaltered against some of our most loved and relished icons of the West . How can this be? Where for the love of God and Country is Our Integrity, Our Honor and Our Humanity ~ Where?
