I can't believe we have to petition something as important as this. The right thing to do is to let them be. The roundup is cruel and sadistic. We should honor these animals by letting them alone. After all they are a part of American history. This country was built by the use of horses and burros long before other means of transportation were introduced.REPORT COMMENTS

The horse roundups are barbaric. The American Humane Society should get involved and witness the extreme cruelty these horses are made to endure. On their own, wild horses do not gallop for miles on end. The physical and mental exhaustion these horses must endure, is beyond comprehension. I takes a real "man" to sit inside a helicopter and run them down.REPORT COMMENTS

Can you please STOP this maddness? There is absolutely no reason to run these horses & burros by a helicopter for 10 miles to be injured or killed in the process. You are treating the Wild Horses & Burros the same way the Indians were treated in taking the land from them. This is public land for our wild horses & burros not for private gain.REPORT COMMENTS

Do we really want to decimate the wild horses? How would the kids of this country react - how about your kids? What about the President's kids? Stop this cruel activity before it is too late. Several alternatives have been offered but the arogance of the BLM has disallowed sense. Get real - get with what the people have been demanding and end this now!!!!REPORT COMMENTS

This is not Japan. This is not foreign soil. We do not live in a culture where this is acceptable. This is America and we the people will not tolerate such abuse of our public land and the God's creatures that live there. Stop the cruelty on OUR land. Public land is not for the PRIVATE GAIN of ranchers and oil men. IT IS FOR THE PUBLIC and and PUBLIC wants this madness to STOP NOW!REPORT COMMENTS

How can we as Americans let these roundups happen! Doesn't anyone listen or care anymore to what we want! I have watched the videos of some of the helicopter roundups & they are so cruel. To run these magnificent creatures so far & many to their deaths is incomprehensible to me. These so called contractors don't give a damm about what happens to these horses, it is all about the mighty dollar. STOP these inhumane roundups!REPORT COMMENTS

Dear Pres. Obama and BLM staff, The wild horses are America's icon of the west that have done the work to make this country what it is from it's very beginnings. People still billboard wild horses in their marketing and they are a symbol of America. Frankly, I thought the cowboys and horses were both icons of the west...Their VALUE is above the dollar bill folks...Once gone, they are gone...like the endangered species they are becoming! BEAUTIFUL CREATURES that for some reason the power have found a reason to let this get out of hand. JUST STOP..."PLEASE" STOP the roundups...There are hundreds of reasons...Let these animals be wild the way nature intended and garner the respect of the American nation.REPORT COMMENTS

Each day I read about the murder of our wild life and I'm in shock that people actually can do this to a living, breathing animal. Very sad. We have no right to do such a think to any living, breathing person or animal of any type. It's a sin against god and nature. Please stop this terrible tragedy.REPORT COMMENTS

This is a extreme waste of tax payers $$ with thousands of horses in holding pens that have to be feed. Wouldn't it cost less to just help feed them if there isnt' enough food. Just stop selling away the water rights. Would save the millions of dollars you pay that coone to round them up with his helicopter. The horses would be abused or killed like they are, less would die if they did nothing then let this go one.REPORT COMMENTS

It is all very clear why the Obama Administration is turning a blind eye and deaf ear to public outcry over the destruction of our wild horse and burro herds. If Obama and Salazar think they will be remembered for innovative energy projects; they are wrong !! They will however surely be remembered as the Administration that LIED and DESTROYED an irreplaceable American icon . It is a Shame and Disgrace that we have to petition our government to do what is humanely right !! I ask for the halt of the roundups , not only for the sake of the Wild Horses & Burros but for Your own sake , for the time will come when you will be judged for each and every kind or evil deed done in your life here on this earth .. Thank you for your timeREPORT COMMENTS
