DENDING chronic pain patients nesscessary medicine will never solve the addiction problems in society. You're causing more suffering, stress on families and chronic pain suicides by not addressing the very nesscessary needs of Chronic pain. Infact, odds are that one day you and someone you love will suffer pain that is intense unrelenting,. Untreated chronic pain KILLS. YOUR BLINDED BY GRIEF OVER THE ADDICTION ISSUE AND TO CAUSE UNDUE, CRUEL SUFFERING TO PEOPLE WHO ARE IN NO WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RAVAGES OF ADDICTION IS CRUEL, INDIFFRENT, AND AGAINST HUMAN RIGHTS, AS WELL AS OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS. ENOUGH THERE ARE NO SIMPLE SOLUTIONS TO THIS COMPLEX PROBLEM. YOU ALREADY HAVE THE BLOOD OF SUFFERING PATIENTS ON YOUR HANDS. LET US PARTICIPATE IN OUR HEALTH CARE DECISIONS. THIS MUST STOP. STOP LUMPING CHRONIC PAIN PATIENTS IN WITH ADDICTS. ADDRESS THE DEEP ROOTED REASONS BEHIND ADDICTION SUCH AS POVERTY, A FAILING EDUCATION SYSTEM, THE HOPELESS AND FRUSTRATION OF AMERICANS OVER NOT BEING EITHER HEARD OR CONSIDERED BY OUR PROFIT DRIVEN BUREAUOCRATS, LOBBYISTS, REPRESENTATIVES. START BY USING WHATEVER IS LEFT OF YOUR HUMANITY VERSES THE RAMPANT GREED THE AMERICAN PEOPLE SEE RIGHT THROUGH. CPP ARE RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS WHO VOTE. I'M SURE YOU ARE ALREADY AWARE, OR SHOULD BE, OF THE ANGER PREVALENT IN THE US. STOP TORTURING US, DENYING US OUR RIGHTFUL MEDICAL NEEDS, INCLUDING MEDICINE ALL MEDICINE HAS DANGERS. WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD FOR PAIN MEDS??? LEAVE OUR CARING, PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS TO DO THEIR JOBS. THE MAJORITY ARE CARING, RESPONSIBLE, EDUCATED PEOPLE. Which is a lot more than I can say for your uneducated, unsympathetic, profit driven decisions over medical decisions you gave no right to decidr

As a chronic pain patient, the way we are treated is demeaning. I did not ask for pain to take over my life. This is not how I envisioned my life in my 40s. I cannot find a doctor who will help control my pain. I now have high blood pressure that is hard to control, due to inadequate pain management. I struggle to work 6 hours a day. My family suffers, as I am in bed the minute I get home. I do not socialize, attend family events, or travel. I exist, in pain. I would not wish this on anyone. The government should not dictate my medical care. My doctors should not be afraid to treat me, for fear of reprucussions. Please allow us to live our lives with dignity and hope for our futures!

A person living in chronic pain is actually the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of an abuser! We DO NOT live out of control lives nor do we live on the edge of excess. We're able to live normal lives BECAUSE OF the relief opioid medications provide! Unlike addicts, we we see our physicians every 30 days, unlike abusers, we sign an agreement with our physicians adhering to a set of rules, unlike addicts, we are tested monthly for both, the drugs that are currently in our system as well as, medications that are not. Finally, we are mindful to keep these medications tucked safely away so we have them when they are needed. We take these medications because they enable us a level of functioning as well as a quality of life by controlling pain thats otherwise, overwhelming. We are more cautious than anyone with our medicines because these medications are our "link" to relief which enables us to participate & function not only in our own lives, but in the lives of our families, friends & communities! We are only given ONE LIFE to LIVE & no one has the RIGHT to take a life AWAY. Patients who live with chronic pain HAVE Lives because of these types of medications. We are NO DIFFERENT than the millions of other American Citizens that are sick with chronic diseases!!! Millions of Americans in this Country are "dependant " on various medications in every category such as insulin, blood pressure, anti-seizure, anti-depressants, as well as opioids, so are these millions of people labeled as having a "substance abuse disorder?" Going by the Governments new definition, EVERY SINGLE PERSON in America that needs to take a prescription medication for the rest of their life, now has a "substance abuse disorder!"! This thought process is beyond ridiculous!! Opioid medications have been used successfully for hundreds of years. I feel quite certain that physicans, especially doctors specializing in pain, have adequate knowlege & enough common sense to seperate honest patients with real issues from someone who is seeking only medication! This is NOT the place for Government to be playing a role! Until you are forced to LIVE in pain that's overwhelming, you have NO IDEA what it is!! Chronic pain can be maddening, breaking even the strongest of individuals.

It's one of the last legal discriminations. People are welcome to assume that anyone who needs pain medication is an addict, that people with chronic pain are drug seeking junkies. We are judged and denied medication by folks who aren't doctors. We have no resort. This is as wrong as it gets. This is shameful.

I have signed petition after petition, I have written to you Mr. President, as well as Senators Booker and Menendez, the DEA, CDC, FDA, and many multiple media outlets. DENYINY millions of legitimate pAIN pts The LIFESAVING OPIOD MEDICATION required to have some semblance of a QUALITY OF LIFE is CRUEL, ABUSIVE, BARBARIC, INHUMANE, TORTURE AND IT IS GENOCIDE! When I was on the correct doses that eased my pain and allowed me to be a functioning human being and to participate in life, my QUALITY OF LIFE greatly improved, because of OPIOD THERAPY! MY LAST RESORT"!! My meds were lowered to INEFFECTIVE DOSES THAT LEAVE ME IN AGONY! I have ZERO QUALITY OF LIFE! I am in constant 8/9 pain level on the pain scale, where it use to be a tolerble 4, some days even lower. I was active, enjoyed long walks thru the woods, enjoyed going fishing, crabbing, biking, boating, going on long drives, showering every day and cooking a nice dinner nightly for my son. Since my meds were lowered, my health has drastically taken a turn for the worse. I hardly ever leave the house except for monthly drs visits. Everything is extremely difficult for me to do My whole dam body is raging hell on the inside. Every bone in my body feels like they are being crushed by tons of burning concrete. I am so weak and in so much pain daily, I can't take much more! You Mr. President, have taken everything from me. I no longer wake up with happy thoughts of the day, In fact, if im lucky to sleep an hour or two, I am guaranteed to wake up in severe pain,,the sickness that comes over my body from the pain causes me to vomit and brings me to uncontrollable crying, begging God to take me. NOONE SHOULD BE FORCED TO SUFFER!! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU, MAY YOU REAP WHAT YOU SOW!

Please listen! Without medical intervention for my pain, I might as well not exist. During the week my doctor was targeted and shut down, my life was a living hell. Not only did the withdrawal symptoms not get better, my pain came back with a vengeance. I lived on my couch, curled into a fetal position, crying, not eating, not sleeping. I was denied treatment at the ER. My son had to take care of the pets and the housework, as well as go to work. If it weren't for him pleading with me to hang on a little longer, I would have killed myself. Imagine someone lighting your shoulder on fire, stabbing your hip with a pitchfork and getting slammed in the back with a baseball bat at the same time, day and night with no hope or help in sight. That is me without medication. I sincerely hope that you or someone you love never has to go through that, but if they do I hope there is still help to be had.

I hurt my back at the age of 15. Reinjured at 17 and really reinjured at 35. I did not take anything until I was at a constant 7-10. Now I have two bad knees. I take medication as prescribed. I should not be punished because others are looking for a high! Punish them! What was done here in Buffalo, NY was a terrible injustice. Now I spend my days in bed with excruciating pain! IT'S NOT JUST A TAKE TWO TYLENOL OR MOTRIN AND ITS GONE!!!! I wish it were! Please do something but don't forget those that are suffering! I am not a junkie! It is in my back and knees not all in my head!

Chronic pain patients shouldn't be punished for the behavior of drug addicts or bad doctors!! We have every right to have our pain treated and to not treat chronic pain is simply inhumane.... period!!!!!!
