Horses are companion animals. They are sensitive and spend their lives in servitude to masters. They cannot be lumped into livestock category because of such close human association. In addition, the very nature of a horse combined with anatomy makes it mostly impossible to stun him for slaughter. To brutalize a horse in the dreadful ways of sale, transport, and butchering is inhumane beyond words.
