The current practices used in slaughter houses do not meet humane standards for horses. There is already a lack of sufficient inspection and regulation for those slaughterhouses already in place for other animals, which leads to corners cut and animals suffering. Why add to this mess? There is not a sufficient market in the US and US horse meat will not largely meet EU standards, since they have not been raised for meet and have received countless unidentified/recorded drugs during their lives. The US does NOT need horse slaughter. The US needs to get a better grip on the overbreeding of stock horses and mustangs.REPORT COMMENTS
