I attended the US Naval Academy with Mike and we maintained our friendship over the years and miles. I was honored to eulogize him at his funeral. Please correct this injustice for the sake of Mike and more importantly, for his family!Apr 11th, 2011Someone from Johnson City, TN signed.

We need for this to be throughly investigated and for the truth to be revealed. Then, after the facts and truth have been determined, do what is just and do what is right. Honor the service and memory of this veteran.REPORT COMMENTS

Mike served his country with honor and distinction. He had much to live for and no apparent reason to end his own life. But as the JAG on a controversial case, he most certainly would have been in danger from those who might think to profit from his demise. So the question is, will the nation to which he devoted his life and career honor his memory by pursuing the evidence wherever it might lead, or simply look the other way? His bereaved friends and family pray that you will have the moral courage to do the right thing, even if inconvenient.REPORT COMMENTS

Any non-combat death needs to be thoroughly investigated as if it took place in the U.S. with all the forensic experts available.REPORT COMMENTS

I feel I need to interject my own opinion that there was absolutely no way Mike Stahlman could or would have committed suicide. We have all been extremely distressed by this finding as stated above. Please help us provide justice.REPORT COMMENTS

The survivors ofour Service men and women deserve every effort we can make to determine the actual circumstances of the loss of their loved ones. We expend more effort to determine what happened to alleged "non-combatant" local nationals and football heroes than we do for a career Marine who died under questionable circumstances? This needs to be investigated.REPORT COMMENTS

Mike was the most dedicated Marine I have every had the pleasure of knowing. He "volunteered" to go to Afghanistan his last year of life to serve his country and to stand with men that he had trained when they too had to go. He was waiting on the last few months of his time there to return to his wife and children. It has been a heart breaking experience as he is my nephew and I KNOW IN MY HEART this was not in his character, he could not have taken his life. He loved the Marines as well as his loving wife who has been at his side from the day they married supporting him as only a Marines' wife could. Please allow the family to clear his wonderful name and the status he shared with the Marine Corp.REPORT COMMENTS
