Political Science research is incredibly valuable and NSF funding is a main source of support for graduate students and academics. It would be incredibly short-sighted and imprudent to cut Political Science funding at any time, but it would be simply disastrous in today's social and political climate.

Stop the Republican Party's campaign to suppress freedom of thought, suppress our democratic processes, suppress our individual liberties. They have become the very totalitarians thugs they claim to be fighting against!

I was part of the National Science Foundation for Political Science and I can honestly say that it has changed my life in many ways and openend up so many opportunities for me. It would reduce students opportunity in many levels, if it was to be removed.

Funding for political science research is critical to ensuring sound domestic and foreign policy for the United States. It is necessary for national security and progress.

If the amendment to cut funding for Political Science passes, what's next - history? education? geosciences? What is the real aim of this amendment??? Today we need science research more than ever, especially in the emotional arena of politics. Please vote to return or maintain funding for political science to the NSF.

I've been involved in 20 years of NSF-funded research that culminated in the Dept of Defense Integrated Conflict Early Warning System, a $40-million effort which provides unprecedented real-time monitoring and early warning capability to the US government. This project was entirely based on prior work by researchers in political science, largely funded by NSF. Had the Flake Amendment been in place, none of this would have been possible.
