The ACS is critical to determining past trends and future alterations to policy and practice. It is incredibly short-sighted to give up on collecting data in an era within which is has become even more important.

Removing ACS is an insane and shameful idea.

This is an attack on a source which has traditionally been vital in using public funds intelligently, providing sound data for both government and the private sector. The motivation for it appears to be highly partisan.

I teach economics, and I use the ACS regularly. Every semester I have students use the ACS. The ACS is a public good, so the private market won't provide it.

The ACS is a gold standard in survey research that is used extensively not only in "pure" research but also by businesses across the country. It is a useful source of information for all Americans.

The ACS is essential for innumerable social science research projects. Without it, social scientists who explore the roots and causes of social problems will be left blind. Please don't allow pseudo-constitutionalists to torpedo a traditional of critical social inquiry that has been at the heart of the American experiment since its founding.

My Institute serves many researchers at UC Berkeley who have Federal grants funds for research, and many of them rely on ACS. PLEASE don't take away this essential tool!

My students use the American Community Survey all the time for their papers. This is important information! Please protect it. There is no other source for them to follow demographic trends. Help!

Do not let short term political thinking override the long term planning and policy research benefits of information available in the American Community Survey
