This survey is very valuable for academic economists such as myself. Important work on labor mobility has used this data.

My colleague and I published a paper on immigration using ACS data. The decenial census is not enough.

As a sociologist, the ACS data is completely essential for researchers attempting to use the most up-to-date and recent statistics analyze and document changes in communities, as well as make policy suggestions. Without this data set, social science research will be less precise and less responsive to changes in the communities that need currently need the most in our country. Please do not end this important study.

The American Community Survey provides very useful, indeed essential, information to policy makers and researchers, regardless of their political affiliation.

The US is undergoing major social change. Decision-makers need to be well informed about them. That is what the survey is for

Making decisions about how to allocate funds without the necessary information to do so appropriately is irresponsible governing.

Just because members of the House don't use the ACS, does not mean it's not valuable. The benefits to society far exceed the costs.

If ignorance is bliss, we should eliminate the whole census business and have the Tea Party decide how many representatives each state should have.
