This is a critical resource for the American public, policy makers, city and other planners, and the entire social science community. It must be preserved. -

The ACS is a critically important resource both in my own social science research and as a valuable learning tool for both my undergraduate and graduate students. I also use its data in several of my textbooks. This ongoing portrait of American families is vitally important not only today, but it will give future generations valuable information about our times.REPORT COMMENTS

Please do not cut this important source of information about the American public. I use this data source continuously in my own research on grandparent-headed families. Baby Boomers need to know about their fellow grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. This important social trend has many implications for Baby Boomers' well-being. We need the ACS to learn about changing American families.REPORT COMMENTS

As a social scientist I use ACS frequently. For example when doing work for FEMA, the Corps and the National Weather Service, it helps identify vulnerable populations during disasters.REPORT COMMENTS

The ACS is the foundation for a good deal of our understanding of recent economic outcomes in the U.S., and our management of a variety of programs. Without the information it provides, we would truly be flying blind.REPORT COMMENTS
