I have taken Lipton for 3 years now throughout fertility treatments. I made the decision to quit the process when I found out that I had high levels protein and blood in my urine indicating a kidney problem. March 29, 2016 Dear President Obama: Dear Representative Honda: Dear Senator Boxer: Dear Senator Feinstein: The purpose of this petition is to warn others regarding the drug Lupron (Leupolide Acetate) mfg. by Takeda/Abbott Pharmaceuticals in the hope that further long-term safety studies are done before it disables or kills more women. This drug was originally marketed to treat prostate cancer patients but now is widely used for the treatment of endometriosis, infertility, fibroids/ovarian cysts and even precocious puberty. Many women are continuing to suffer the side effects long after taking their last dose even though their doctor and the pharmaceutical company states that the side effects should go away within 3-6 months. Side effects include but are not limited to: hot flashes, memory loss, tachycardia, hematura, hypotension, dizziness, insomnia, anxiety, depression, Vitamin D deficiency, constant gnawing bone/joint pain, osteoarthritis, osteopenia, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia, degenerative disc disease, autoimmune diseases, blood disorders, cancer and many others including death and yet not one long term study has been conducted.It is devastating to us that we agreed to take an FDA approved drug under the care of our physician whom we trusted only to find ourselves sicker than you could imagine ---- in pain and unable to get the proper treatment or even believed that Lupron caused our problems. We hereby request that an investigation be undertaken into the short term and long term effects of Lupron on women. We further request that all outcomes and results of such trials be released and published so that both patients and doctors alike may have the benefit of all the information regarding this drug. I wish I had researched the side effects of Lupron Depot . I was suffering from extreme pain from what ended up being fibroids , cysts and endometriosis . I would have to wait for two months to have surgery due to my Doctors schedule . So I told them I need some relief because Vicodin and Motrin wasn\'t working . I took a 3 month timed release shot . I was only told that I may experience hot flashes , night sweats , dry skin . So I figured that was doable . It was a shot from hell! Two weeks into it I suffered migraines that lasted almost two weeks , then changed to normal headaches for another week . Those ended and then came the hot flashes and night sweats . I was told don\'t worry it will be out of your system in 3 months . Oh and I gained 18 pounds in 4 short months without changing a thing .That was 12/23/14 and now we are at 3/28/16 and I have since had a hysterectomy and my pelvic pain is gone . However I am now left with joint and muscle pain . I feel like an old lady ! After sitting at the computer or on the sofa watching a movie when I get up I have to think about how to slowly rise . It\'s crazy I am only 51 and prior to the shot I was not experience joint and muscle pain or weight gain . Please be careful what you letREPORT COMMENTS

I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy due to fibroids. I recently talked to my doctor about taking Lupton to reduce the size of my uterus so that I can qualify for a certain type of hysterectomy. I was told the only side effect I had to worry about your hot flashes. I looked up the side effects myself and found the typical side effects that you might get once you go into menopause. Something told me to look a little bit further before taking the drug and that's where I stumbled upon the long-term effects of Lupron. I read numerous stories of women who took this drug and it ruin their lives. I'm signing this petition because I don't want to see this happen to any other woman. And I'm upset and Afraid for the next person who thinks Lupron might be the answer tHey need in order to have a less evasive surgery to remove fibroids and end up ruining their lives.REPORT COMMENTS

Had my first shot 2weeks ago. Migraines every night and terrible headache all day . Can't sleep at all , even with sleep aids. Do not take this drug. Im half way through my first 3 month shot of Lupron that was supposed to heal my endometriosis. Unfortunately, there has been no improvement in my endometriosis pain and now im dealing with the terrible side effects from the Lupron shot that are as follows: joint pain, migraines, increased anxiety and depression, continued abdominal pain, hot flashes, night sweats....i could go on and on. This drug is like poison and it feels like it is killing me from the inside out and it isn't even helping with my endometriosis pain as originally promised. AL 59 yr old male, radical prostatectomy, radiation treat 1999. Recurrence 2013. 2015 8 month treatment plan (2) injections each lasting (4) mo. in duration. 1st 4 months no real symptoms with exercise. 2nd injection, weight gain, muscle and joint pain, hot flashes, memory loss, extreme fatigue, extremely irritable. These side effects seem to be getting worse than better coming to the end of the last 4 months of the treatment plan, No one told me these symptoms could last past the actual plan and never go away. I told my oncologist about the joint pain, and she acted like this was not caused by the lupron. SO i sent her the side effects in case she didn't know.REPORT COMMENTS

The drug is aweful it's nothing but a poison that destroys the hold body from the head to toe. I have been working all my life and a very happy person, that changed after taking lupron I'm no longer any good for anything. I can't remember nothing, had a heart attack, it hard for me to walk, hip pains, depression, hot flashes are horrible, I don't want to go outside and I have always been an outside person, can't sleep, I have gained so much weight, anxiety, mood swing, rashes and lumps on my body the list goes on and on. My Doc put me on Lupron for Endometriosis. A few months later my thyroids started acting up then I had to go to the emergency room because I was going into a thyroid storm. Prior to 2003, I had been put on Lupron. I successfully had a daughter in October 2003 but after her birth, I never had a period again. I have had many issues throughout and since being on Lupron that I am now becoming aware of and connecting the dots that it leads directly to the use of this drug.
