I have been on Lupron for close to 6 months. It is the only thing that has provided relief for my pain. However, the joint pain, tingling, naseau, weight gain, insomnia, and who knows what else, has been a hard trade off to deal with. I was prescribed Lupron for 6 months, in the time that I took it I forget things easily, I still have severe cramping and extreme back pain like I've never had before. Being prescribed lupron at 16 for severe endometriosis with no treatment with birth control prior, is alittle frightening. My mom is looking to file a law suit against my doctor for the sure fact that he did not nor talk to me about depression or putting me on a calcium supplement. I have severe bone and joint pain, no amount of pain killers can help at any specific point. My life is changed from this shot and I believe it should no longer be administered especially to people under the age of 18.REPORT COMMENTS

I was prescribed Lupron for frequent unknown pain on the left side of my body. I have been through every test imaginable without answers. The shot took the sharp chest pain and pressure away and helped me function. I do have hot flashes frequently. But I feel like my life has been restored after two shots. Reading these testimonies leaves me with an unsettling feeling. I do think the long term effects of a drug should be determined before using the public as testers. I love the drug, but have no idea if I should stop taking it and go back to the pain in my normal life. An understanding of the risks and what to expect is something that can only come from studies.REPORT COMMENTS

I was given a 3 month injection of Lupron in 10/05. I immediately became ill and have since been diagnosed with FMS, GERD, Mixed Connective Tissue Disease, Diverticular Disease and Fibrocystic Breasts. Please help us to find an answer to how this drug took an otherwise healthy mom, volunteer firefighter and EMT, and turned her into a woman crippled by constant pain.REPORT COMMENTS

I have a friend that is suffering from the doctor prescribed drug, Lupron. This drug has caused her terrible pain during her 28 years of life and now it's questionable as to how much time she has left. I've read the research and I think the facts speak for themselves, hopefully something can be done to stop the distribution of this terrible drug and save future patients the pain that others have had to put up with for the last twenty years. I have had two 3 month injections and after the second month I started to have mood swings, hot flashes, bone pain, muscle pains ( I have been going to physical theropy to help with the muscles in my neck, sometimes I can't move it.) I also have been experiencing numbness in my hands, back pain, leg pains, I can't sleep but I am overwhelmed with fatigue. I don't even feel like myself. My family has suffered, my job has suffered, I had to change my duties at my job because I was unable to do my normal duties. I had been on Lupron injections for about 2 years due to sever endometriosis and I suffer sever joint pain I can't even make a fist with my hands and can't open bottles that have caps on them, I can't type without sever pain in my joints. I can't sleep and I have suffered short term memory loss. I also have a hard time walking my ankles hurt they feel swollen. When taking this medication I developed swelling in my neck and it couldn't be diagnosed, The swellen went away but I suffer everyday and cry when trying to sleep my joints hurt that bad I don't even have to move them. I also developed allergic reations to tentanus shot I ran a fever and my arm swelled up this has never happened to me before I also developed hypertension.I don't know if I'll ever be the same again. I don't know if I'll be able to work again It's hard when I'm in so much pain constantly. I feel like a hundred years old. I've since had a complete hystorectomy.REPORT COMMENTS

I have just received my 1st Lupron injection and was not told about the possible long term effects! I don't believe my doctor would have given it to me if he knew how many women have been suffering. Health care professionals need to be educated and not just by handing them literature. They base their knowledge on side effects mainly through their patients.
