The laws definatly need to be looked at the problem is that it just depends on how the judge fills for the day on what the outcome is for the day. should be 0-5 years old this much per day to raise a kid 6-15 this much 16-18 not off what each parent makes in my situation I never asked for a divorce I had to fight to get a 50/50 visitation I buy all clothes at my house food birthday ect. which I love to do cause their my kids and usually pay all extra cirricular activities and still pay her 409.00 a month was paying 300.00 a month alamony till she remarried and she wants to take me back to court for the 6th time in 2 years for more money and to pay for the kids school lunch witch will never go through I hope but just depends on how the judge is filling and I still have to pay my half of the court costs attorney fees to defend my self. new law should be added anyone taking someone to court for something stupid or an act of greed should pay all court costs and attorney fees for both parties Regardless. the only time the law should be alterd if one of the parties had to leave for abuse, drugs, cheating and can prove that. to many women are leaving cause its to easy good check every month they do that to 2 or 3 guys and they have it made. any judge altering from these laws should be termanated.REPORT COMMENTS

This is one of the worse law I have ever witness. Man pay for children that is not theirs, While the women stay at home have more baby. Let all kinds of man stay at home with them while a man that not the father pay child support. While his children he do have that i really his grt less then nothing. that what my husband do. In illionois if a woman tell you the father of a child and you try to do the right thing. and sign the birth certifate and later find out the child is not yours you stuck. best interest of the child they say. What about the real father who sitting back not taking care of the cjild thats his. and the mother eho lied from the begging nowing she had sex with more then one man. An dthe children who father pay schild support for other children and his real children miss out .on birthdays ,shoe, vacations,etc. because there is no money fir them . every person man woman and child . who there real father is. for every reason and health. the law to chane if a man not the father he should not have to pay. The system in all states is sad. My husband is working all the time to care for children that he has no contact with. One mother disappeared for 5 years without a trace and popped back up to file for more money. Browaard County Child Support is a joke. My EX pays very little and goes to court so they can tell him it's ok, to pay when he can. He was not paying ANYTHING. Stupid. Meanwhile, my current husband was paying every week and they still suspended his license and the mother stated he did not live with or help her when the child was born years prior to them going to court and they got him for $25,000 back child support. They went way past the 2 years allowed to seek past support. We had a lawyer. The general magistrates here are terrible and do not listen to the evidence either. We sued her for custody due to abuse-proved abuse with DCF and the judge was more worried about child support he was paying and still left the child with the mother. So, unless the laws are changed the non-custodial parents can just kiss everything they own good bye.REPORT COMMENTS

I have a family of four not including the one i pay child support for and my payment is more then what i take care of my whole family with. I believe they should take into consideration the living arrangments of the custodial parent if they are living with their parents or relatives and collecting welfare and does not to pay one bill why should i have to pay for my childs living expenses if their free to the other parent just giving money to do whatever they want. Also i want custody of my child and dont want a penny from the other parent why is this not acceptable i will take responsibility and do it by myself but i cant cause the court says its for the best to live with the mother. How about we give the child to the parent who actually wants them for love and not for money.REPORT COMMENTS

My wife are taking care of her sister, we Went to the courts to obtain the Child Support for this young woman so the Mother could not collect it. Well the judge issued an order stating that Mother would pay Us 1/2 each time she received a Payment from the Father and if she did not comply she would be held in contempt of the Courts and thrown in Jail for 6 mths. Mother Hired an Attorney and he is going to move to Vacate the said order. Which means, Mom still receives the money for a child she does not take care of. and left behind at our home.REPORT COMMENTS

My husband and his ex share 50/50 custody of their 2 children. There is no custodial parent. Everything is equal. He pays for 100% of their medical insurance and the kids are on my dental plan. We pay 600.00 a month in child support because the ex does not want to work. Now she wants to take us back to court for more money becasue she has another baby with someone else. In CA she has the right to more $ from us because she now has a hardship. It's insane. My husband works full time and is an excellent fully involved father. It's not fair that my husband has to pay his ex money because she chooses not to work. I believe that this child support system was set up to protect mothers and children against dead beat dads. These child support laws can get real crazy!! In IN, a mother will soon be getting child support awarded for a child she does not even have in her physical custody, but is allowing her extended family to rear the child with mom not contributing a dime to the child's needs. Is this possible? Even the father's attorney doesn't have a clue what to do about this arrangement, except to say that the mother can leave the child with whomever she pleases, but the child support will go to her. Then, mom was collecting welfare benefits for the child not in her household, without dad's knowledge, but that's been overlooked also with dad being liable for whatever was paid, even if received fraudulently. In this state, it seems the courts side with mom, regardless of circumstances. If dad makes the attempt for custody, he will go to the cleaners trying to obtain it, while mom lies her butt off about what the true arrangements are. It's not even difficult to prove that the child does not live with the mother since he is of school age and goes to school in a whole another county than where mom lists her address. The situation would not be such a disaster if the child was at least being provided for financially by what he got in the past from dad, but that's not been the case. Obviously, her family is nary able to maintain his needs, either, but they won't speak up for the courts, either, to state the true situation, so hopefully, the individual actually caring for the child will get his support monies. According to the attorney, the child support belongs to the mother according to state law? Is this crazy, or what? Heck, even the court papers name the mother as the one entitled to the child support. Meanwhile, this poor child's school lunch money is difficult to come by, unless dad or somebody on his family's side pays for that directly to the school, outside of any child support arrangement. This whole child support shebang is CRAZY!!REPORT COMMENTS

I have notarized receipts from my son mom for payments and she told the Court that she lied and never received all said money, but only half of it. The Magistrate ruled that I owed her all the money from all past years not given me the money from the receipts, nor the money she said in Court that I had paid. So now I am told that I will be arrested if I do not pay her $1000,000 in a month. What is going on when a magistrate can make his own laws, and judgments. Now if I did not have a penis he would have excepted my notarized statements, and her telling him that I had only paid $20,000. But as I stated he did not even give me credit for the $20,000 that she told him that I paid in court. TALK ABOUT ONE SIDED JUSTICE!!! I could not even appeal his ruling, to a judge. Now my son is 13 and the two he pay support for are 19 and 20. We are barely living as is. Ever since our son was born this support has made things hard. The 19 year old live in ATL. I am one who is on both sides of this fence. My ex has not provided support for years. My new spouse is nearly bankrupt from excess support and award amounts to his ex. The shoe fits both men and women, it is not about father's, it is about what is fair and right. Child support should be based on actual costs, not some dreamed up number that sounds good to some researchers (but not all) thus giving the receiving party a windfall that allows them to not be financially responsible for anything. Fairness is what society allows for all parents to provide their children, not "oh yeah divorced - then you must provide more then would have if you didn't sign the dotted line."REPORT COMMENTS

The laws the way they are actually promote this women to be single mothers because they know the laws back them up 100%.In va they can take up to 65% of your income and you have no right to see how your childrens money is spent. Finacially the men pay the most but at the end of the year you cant claim them with out the mothers permission. It should be if you are responsible and are active in you childrens life you should be able to claim them. Child Support - How did this get this ugly. Oh, yea one side got a huge advantage. I am a Slave, at least for 10 more years. I am a good slave and pay my master her portion of my work. I was working part time to make extra money and my master found out. Now I pay more money and the extra work has run out. This is my fault for being a bad slave. Are you still enjoying the show Mr. Lincoln. Your brothers and now sisters have found a way to bring abuses back. I have my children 39.5% of the time by court order. Sounds good and it is, but this figure was determined to be the most time I can get without effecting child support. Wow, my time is based on the maximum benefit to the mother. That is FINE, at least I see my angels alot. The Lord has graced me in other ways. I sold my Ex her house, the one I told her we should sell and each of us get a condo, but she wanted the house.... I sold it to her at the TOP of the Market. So my child support pays for the house and I did not have a house for 3 years. Now who is on top. This is not the typical case and I feel for my brothers in chains. This will go down in history and the "ERA of the Slave Father" Women have much more control of child birth, pregnancy, and you never find a couple that the husband brought a child and passed it off as his wife's. HA HA, that is women should be held accountable. With the power comes the responsibility. Not so in this ERA, the power for the women by Nature and the responsibility to the man by the State. Abuse Abuse Abuse... Slavery will not last. Freedom for Fathers!!!!!!!! Freedom for Fathers!!!!!!!! Freedom for Fathers!!!!!!!! I have a Dream !!!!!! These laws are lopsided and allow a substantial amount of abuse of the system. These laws need to become fair for both parents and I don't understand why they haven't been updated to address the many issues. It is about time that that laws/rules for child support be changed. ex's (usually women)are sticking it to the other and the CSED is helping. with DNA, no one should pay child support without knowing for sure that the child is their child. And, no one should EVER have to continue to pay after they find out the child is not theirs (go after the real father or the lying women). The laws should be nation wide, no varying from state to state. Take into account the average income in a state(because you can make more $ depending on where you live) but have the same rules for emancipation (18 should be the age of emancipation nation wide, if the child can act as an adult at 18 the non-custodial parent shouldn't be responsible). I know this may be a bit out there but a good way to stop abuse of the system (and women trapping men) is to make it so no women can get child support unless her and the man were married when the child was born (or get married after child's birth). That would force women to make sure they do not get pregnant unless the time is right and both parties are ready/willing to support the child. There is a lot of easy women out there looking for a man to knock them up because they know that child is guaranteed income for 18 years. And why does a non-custodial parent have to pay back welfare. If the custodial parent is not working and on welfare it seems unfair that the NCP pays them back. the NCP is paying for the CP to do nothing? I could go on and on about all the problems with child support. just in case anyone was wondering I am a female.
