KY does not have provisions that allow for adjustments to child support considering shared parenting and other dependent children, other stales do, this law should be adjustedMar 5th, 2014Someone from Weatherford, TX writes:
She doesn't work and lives off her husband yet tells us her husband shouldn't have to support his kids! While we pay 600 plus provide medical and dental and pay half medical bills. Its ridiculous she should have to financially support them as well. To top it off she gets a little over 7000.00 a year tax free!REPORT COMMENTS

I have paid child support for 16 years and wife quits work so my child support and her boyfriend checks can keep them living good. My daughter decides that she doesn't want to come see me anymore and I am told I have to pay child support. What a broken system we have here!REPORT COMMENTS

Draconian" child support laws need too be over hauld" or just plain done a way with!! How is it that the father of the child is held as a slave to payments to the mother" but there is no accoutbalty too the court issuing the judgment" about were the money is spent? Nothing? Just a check every month too the mother? And god forbid u fall behind on payments" yes folks thats right u are now a prisoner of the united states of America..you can be thrown in jail" and u may not leave the united states..passport revoked ..what kind of mid Evail" laws are these?REPORT COMMENTS

It is absolutely pathetic as to what the child support laws and equal support of the child that took people to create not more of one than the other. When the judicial system will order a mother to provide a set monetary value of support along with the father who pays much more and then she never provides her court order amount but rely's on her current husband income to support her and collects $400 a month in child support and is never in violation of the order yet if the father refuses to provide his court order amount he is instantly in violation. What a just system created to care for our children...REPORT COMMENTS

When I was married to my ex wife I made the most money I ever gave for the 3 years we were married because I was working around the clock at the World Trade Center. I am a union construction worker and was laid off at the end of my job. I now am making about Half of what I was making while I was married but the courts force me to pay my child support based on what I was making! So instead of paying 17% of my gross (which is a joke why they don't just say about 25% of what you actually take home) I'm now paying 34% of my gross for a 5 year old kid! My ex wife is a RN and makes as much as I do. I am still in the house that my ex and I used to live and I provide my son with everything he needs and I have him almost half the time. I am remarried and have another son to take care of. There are no equal rights when it comes to divorce! It's a pathetic joke that this is aloud to go on in this day and age!REPORT COMMENTS

Child support it taking 50% of my check so that the mother of my children can sit at home on the couch all day making and income. On top of that she re-married and collects his income as well. I support my children while there sleeping in a strangers home (step dad) and while they are with me. It should be equal.. The law is soley for the woman and that is wrong and discriminatory! Men should have equal rights! Im a good father and give my children everything they need and I suffer doing it because the baby's mom wants to become nothing in life and collect other people hard working income.REPORT COMMENTS

There needs to be change! Both parents should be responsible for their child. My husbands has two kids from a previous relationship. He is paying retroactive child support with interest. Never seems to go down. As soon as she started receiving child support she quit her job. The children are in school. She spends the money on herself. When the kids came their shoes were filthy and clothes didn't fit. She had two more kids and her bf left her. He gets paid under the table and had to get a job.We are in the process of losing our house. Anyways, there needs to be change to help non custodial parents and making custodial parents accountable.REPORT COMMENTS

My ex-wife cheated on me with several people, never had a job, never had her license, took my child, she left state, I had to go to court over 20 times through everything, even with joint physical custody me working full time never any legal problems or anything and yet the court still seems to always seems to side with her. My child is miserable with her in short. We still try of course and will until the end but that's the short story. It's sad to see how the world is. These things seriously need to be looked at per situation rather than overlooked or predetermined without looking into each individual case. But I highly doubt it'll change although here I am with hope some day something will.REPORT COMMENTS

I am a female and I get so tired of watching women take advantage of having a child with a man through child support or keeping the children away from the father as if he has done something wrong. The laws are there to assist women, which is not just. So many children don't have their fathers around because of the law. The law has made dead beat father's. I'm not talking about those father's who don't want to be a father, I'm talking about those ones who want to be there to raise their kids. How selfish is the law!?REPORT COMMENTS

I paid over $200,000 in CS payments and the state never released my driver's license as they said they would. Both my children are over 20 and they are still saying owe over $75,000 in arrears. And the state refuses to make adjustments when I lost my job after 9/11. The system does not care about children and their welfare all they want is money and they charge an exorbitant interest when they make mistakes. Including loosing my requests for modification. And not willing to send accurate records to what has been paid. They need to be held accountable.REPORT COMMENTS

Some Judge is going to tell me, "the best welfare of my child". Pay up the rear on support and on top of that half of childcare, yet when you have your child and childcare is not needed your still paying it. What happened to this country? Try and get due process in family court! We need a change, and fast..REPORT COMMENTS

I'm a single Mom raising 2 children. I have tried getting child support and the child support service center tells me they cant find him. I have never gotten child support and struggle everyday. Its ridiculous that Im the one struggling day to day and dont know how Im gonna pay my next bill or where my next dollar will come from. I work everyday and have no one to help me pick kids up at school or daycare. Their dad had children but he couldn't take care of them so his Mother that he lives with now got full custody of them. He drinks every night and does things with his kids that still live with him and his mother. He gets privileged with seeing the ones he wants to see and not pay a dime. Ones like this needs to be put under the jail. I take care of my kids but he should be made to help!REPORT COMMENTS

Reform is greatly needed here. My ex makes well over $100k a year more than i do but yet I have to live in poverty to keep up with the CS payments. I am forced to eat Ramen every night to provide them with steak. Eliminate the standardized calculator and go case by case. Punish those that exploit the system in order to further alienate and vindicate their ex spouses.REPORT COMMENTS

Its politics. Nothing to do with fairness. If they don't get it from you the state foots more of the bill. Its so sad. Maybe someone should start funds for law services to lobby for better child support laws in each state. If every person contributed $1 a month I'm sure they could get great legal representation. Just a thought. I'm surprised the players of th NBA NFL and MLB haven't done it yet.REPORT COMMENTS
