Please Air Force brass, get out from behind your desk and palace offices and listen to troops who have been actually been in ground combat. The A-10 has saved troops time and time again. If your mission is to really support the Army, give them what is needed to save lives...The A-10REPORT COMMENTS

As a retired LTC, USAR, and combat veteran of VN I wholeheartedly endorse the transfer of the A-10 to the Army. It only makes common sense. Don't the Marines have their own air support!REPORT COMMENTS

The A10 is a superior weapon and most importantly....reliable. Using the F-22. F-35, F-18 or even F-15 and 16's are like driving a Ferrari on a dirt track!! They just won't get it done in the same way and will fail in the bad conditions. Sometimes you have to get "down and dirty" in war. The A10 is perfect for what it was made for. Any war machine that is made to fill too many capabilities in effect masters none of them. The A-10 is like the B-52. We simply haven't got a better machine to deliver fire power as well. Just upgrade the damn thing with an even tougher skin and a new computer and turn the suckers loose on the battlefield !! This is a soldiers weapons platform, not a "pentagon" pie in the sky expensive boondoggle. That is the problem here. They just want to buy new stuff...that is too expensive and doesn't really get the job done. If the new stuff was so good, it would be kicking butt in combat right now !!!REPORT COMMENTS

The F-35 cannot do the job of the A-10. Transfer them to the Army so that they can protect the troops.REPORT COMMENTS

Keep the A-10 flying! If the U.S. Army want's it it's for good reason, to support our troops. Isn't that what the Thunderbolt does best and is unsurpassed at?REPORT COMMENTS

It's a travesty that the air force is scrapping such a fantastic and affordable weapons platform in favor of a failed overcomplicated and expensive program such as the F-35.REPORT COMMENTS

No air support for our troops should be denied. The troops are seen cheering this awesome flying terminator more than any other flying machine. The destruction it spreads in its path if it was in widespread use would deter the bad guys from engaging our Army units. Congressman in the position to decide on this matter should act in good faith on behalf of our ground troops and hand over control of the beloved and trusted A-10 to the Army.REPORT COMMENTS

In regards to the F-35 project I leave this quote from Ian Hogg ?tells us that can openers are better than Swiss army knives for opening cans.? The A-10 is an incredibly effective, lower cost aircraft, with vast payload capabilities. It has earned the trust of the troops on the ground and the respect of those flying them.REPORT COMMENTS

Save the A-10, its the best, most cost-effective counter-insurgency and close air support weapon ever. Transfer to the Army if the USAF insists it can only manage strategic bombing and air to air combat. Lets get this right for a change.REPORT COMMENTS
