I agree that the US Air Force should turn Over Control of A-10 Thunderbolt II to US Army and congress should facilitate this effort. The world is becoming more and more unstable and the US Army needs every tool available, especially tools with such short lead-times and small costs as this transition of equipment from one military branch to another.

F**K the F-35 program, it's a air platform that has not and cannot beat the F-15, F-16, and the F-22. It's been proven time and time again in mock air combat exercises. But how in the AF or in Congress really gives a s**t. It's all about jobs in 40 some states that supply various parts for the F-35 program, which has been grounded a month after it was certified by the AF as combat ready. The F-35 is not, repeat not a combat Superior Air Craft by any means, but Congress and the military industrial complex will not accept the fact it's a frigging failure. . The A-10 Warthog II, I believe the E models were just reconfigured with in the last 3 years to last, not till, 2028 but till, 2040 the same as the B-52 H models. We have no aircraft in the US inventory that for fill the total missions that the A-10 fills. But yet the weenies who are making these decisions have never been on the ground under fire, and had their*****saved by Tac Air (Air to Ground Support). My questions to these "Weenies" is what will be the cost in military lives if the F-35 takes over the duties of the A-10. I have talked with F-16 pilots who will tell you the F-16 is a great air frame, one that can deliver reasonable TAC Air, but for close in, down and dirty, danger close, there is no Air Frame that can or has equaled that of the A-10. Ask any ground combat Vet from Iraq and Afghanistan about the total effect of the A-10 as a weapon of close in TAC Air. Helo gunships are fine, but they are far to loud, can be heard miles off by the bad guy who goes to ground. But the A-10 and it's angle of approach is a different story. Bad are dead, before they hear it. On stations time is better than any other air frame including helos. A-10 are out most premier ground support air frame of all time. To ground it, would only give Russia and China along with those the furnish arms to the ability to F**K over our ground troops.

If the Air Force wants to stay on top of the world as the #1 Air Force and survive the air wars of the future. Then it needs to learn how to cut away dying limb, like the F35 and save it good one A-10 and fight on! If this is a lesson they can not learn then turn them over to the Army! As I see it; it all about their pride and not saving American troops!!!

The Air Force should turn over the plane and provide a budget based transfer of life cycle funding for the aircraft.

Please save this amazing platform. No other aircraft in our inventory is suited to the CAS our troops so desperately need. The F-35 program will not be suitable in these roles and are far too expensive in transitioning from the almost perfectly suited A-10 now. What ever you do remember, our troops on the ground depend on the warthog when times are at their worst and it delivers a lethal blow to all that stand against freedom. Thank you for your consideration.

As a retired Army officer as a Vietnam war veteran with knowledge of the essential elements of close air support, I strongly urge you as a representative to transition the A-10 to the US Army. The USAF has always lagged in close air support versus their strategic role missions in use of combat aircraft. If you don't believe that, look what the Army has had to do with small aircraft as helicopters to fulfill the mission to save troops lives in the US Army!
