I think it is a shame that we have young military personnel that come home and committ suicide due to lact of care from our country. They fought for us so why do they not deserve to be taken care of when they return so they can return to a normal civilian life? Too many of them die in combat and now we have them killing themselves when they return home because they can not handle what they dealt with. We need to do something to help them!REPORT COMMENTS

My son, a United States Marine who served in both Afghanistan and Iraq, just took his own life on May, 26, 2010. This tragedy is compounded by the fact he did not receive the help from the VA he so desperately needed but was evaluated, given antidepressants and told to come back in a month. Ryan put his life on the line for our country, but our country was not there for him when he needed and deserved our help. Mental health issues among our troops are rampant. It is our moral obligation to ensure our military personnel are protected, body, mind and spirit, while serving our country and after their enlistment. It is the least we can do for those who sacrifice their very lives, put themselves in harms way, are seperated from their families for long periods of time and need our love, support, understanding and help once they return from active duty.REPORT COMMENTS
