Anyone who could abuse the trust of an innocent, be it human or animal, by inflicting cruelty, pain & suffering deserves to punished and removed from society. Everything on this planet is connected, their sick actions have deep & long lasting repercussions....REPORT COMMENTS

It is known that animal abusers end up being abusers of humans and killers. We cannot tolerate any forms of abuse in our society. Any type of abuser is a threat to the well being of others. Stricter laws to need to be placed. This needs to end.REPORT COMMENTS

Tears come to eyes each time I see an animal who has been treating terribly! How could someone hurt a defenseless animal? Where are the news stories about people hurting animals. Stop focusing on the abused and start focusing on the abuser!! Put them a registry, so everyone will know who they really are!!! I think with stiffer penalties, people will think twice about hurting an animalREPORT COMMENTS

A recent story out of Charlotte, NC of 3 men killing a llama has been on my mind and reinstated my belief in the need for tougher penalties for animal cruelty. Not only did they murder this llama, they mutillated this poor creature, actually cutting it in half and dragging part of it back toward their home. This is an extremely disturbing case not just because of the suffering this llama went through but because of how barbaric this act was. I worry of the correlation of someone willing to do this to a defenseless animal and them willing to hurt a human being. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/02/02/llama-stabbed-mutilated/22737933/REPORT COMMENTS

The laws are not strict enough for animal abusers. I just heard the below disgusting crime against a family pet and the punishment for this despicable man is not harsh enough to send a message to other abusers. More needs to be done and no more time can be wasted. What is being done locally and globally? I read today that FL is the number one state for animal abuse. I now live in Florida and I am disgusted. I hope more people get involved to save animals and people for people who prey on victims. I am for "like" punishment and fines for these abusers. http://www.cbs12.com/news/top-stories/ Man arrested after wife catches him in sex act with family's pet Chihuahua Other cases where they tape or rubber band animal mouths shut to the point they need surgery. Ignorant people who poor bleach on their animals to get rid of fleas. It is horrible. More needs to be done about the daily abuses towards animals and people who cannot defend themselves against abusers.REPORT COMMENTS

Depending on the case, even life imprisonment. If someone is cold and calculated and goes out of their way to torture an animal just for the sheer amusement of it, they need not let out again. Those are the ones who are a danger to society, those are the ones who will never learn because that's enjoyment for them. Those are the ones who will harm a person, eventually.REPORT COMMENTS

You definitely need to make it a law to help protect the animals from abuse. Do the police not realize animal cruelty is just the beginning to bigger crimes of them killing people next. Plus these poor defenseless creatures need us for their voice.REPORT COMMENTS

All forms of animal abuse, cruelty, neglect, testing, experimentation, and exploitation needs to be dealt with swiftly and severely. We cannot let this form of unnecessary harm and pain go on. If there are crimes for disorderly conduct (which often doesn't involve violence to others, namely, humans), then why shouldn't there be laws to punish individuals who intentionally hurt animals? More and more research indicates how various animals communicate, understand, feel and express emotion (including pain and neglect). If one would never harm an infant or young child, then why should we let humans harm or hurt animals who pose no threat? Please contact your state senators and representatives to help push forward legislation which bans and punishes with stiff penalties (imprisonment) those convicted of abuse.REPORT COMMENTS
