As a 5th grade teacher I have witnessed first hand the poor implementation of the CC and it affects. We were handed one CC Math Module just months before the NYS testing last year. The fourth grade teachers had NO modules last year to teach from 70% of students failed. No surprise there. I would guess few adults could have passed that math test without instruction. This year they are handing us the Math Module just days before we are to teach. They are also riddled with "typos" and the type is so small kids can't read the print. They also did not leave space for students to do calculations. These scripted lessons leave little room for creativity especially considering each lesson is to be taught in one day. These students are being asked to navigate very high level math with no background knowledge. The roll out of this program is not only unprofessional but damaging to children. STOP THIS MADNESS.REPORT COMMENTS

I believe that if you watched your children struggle and cry while doing homework, you would have a better understanding of how poorly this education reform was done and handled.REPORT COMMENTS

This mess called Common Core was never based on education principles nor a student's developmental abilities. Long past time for it to go before any more damage is done.REPORT COMMENTS

Please, rethink how Common Core is used and evaluated! I am not opposed to rising our standards in schools, but what Common Core has become, is outrageous! There needs to be more educator and parent input and REMOVE big business hands until this is done. Our schools will be destroyed if this keeps up, but maybe that is what lawmakers want...kids taught like robots in factories?REPORT COMMENTS

Kids are stressing out too much! My own children tell me that school is not fun anymore because they are learning information GEARED toward the TEST! There is no time to breathe! Math has become very complicated with added steps that seriously are not needed! If you can figure out a problem in one step, GREAT why FORCE the kids to solve problems in other ways that will confuse them. Get rid of CCSS!REPORT COMMENTS

Students and teachers have lost their individuality because of constant testing. Let them be who they are, NOT who the government wants them to be.REPORT COMMENTS

We will refuse state testing until common core is changed!!!! Why are we not allowed to see these tests? Why are teachers sworn to not disclose what's on these tests? I could go on!REPORT COMMENTS
