I work at the airport at night and everyday I work a flight that goes to Lagos, Nigeria. Everyday we send at least 2-5 babies back with US passports that we born here to Nigerian mothers while visiting this country. Pregnant Nigerian woman are coming to this country for the sole purpose of giving birth to their child on US soil, and I highly doubt they are paying for the hospital fees.REPORT COMMENTS

Please stop this! Only babies born in the u.s to parents that are citizens should be granted citizenship. If a french woman is on vacation, her daughter born in the u.s is still french. If a mexican woman here illegally has a baby, we are not responsible for it, she needs to take it back to Mexico who has jurisdiction over its citizens. Stand up to mexico. I am absolutely for LEGAL immigration. The "Anchor Baby" loophole encourages illegal immigration and maternity tourism engendering an even greater entitlement mentality. Costly to our nearly bankrupt country. It is also a slap in the face to legal immigrants who gained or are in the process of gaining citizenship the right (legal) way.
