A free society is dependent on the availability of information, and particularly on the continuity of valuable data such as provided by the ACS! I am deeply disturbed by the war against science!May 25th, 2012Someone from Atlanta, GA writes:
ACS is crucial in getting timely information on varioius socioeconomic data between the mandatory Census of the Population. Without this data, state, local and other government agencies will not be able to have a set of generally accepted reliable data from which to forecase and use in the future. This goes from land use planning, transportation and social services provision.REPORT COMMENTS

The ACS data is critical in analyzing and examining the causes of economic growth. Since our politicians are primarily concerned with growing the economy, it is counter to their mission to eliminate this survey.REPORT COMMENTS

ACS data is crucial and necessary for urban planners, such as myself. Without it, we have very little, reliable data from which to create comprehensive plans, complete small area studies, or formulate effective transportation plans ... among other efforts. Please do not cut the ACS.REPORT COMMENTS

This survey helps us keep track of the American population and trends during the years in between the Census. To remove the information it provides will severely reduce our knowledge of the American population in a time when both Congress and private businesses expect and rely on this data.REPORT COMMENTS
