I work in the health care field and have direct patient contact. Everyday I see people that abuse Medicaid. They walk in with their free healthcare, blue tooth cell phone, name brand clothes, 1-2 packs of cigarettes per day, and free cab ride to the pharmacy to pick up their $2 narcotic prescriptions. A patient once said that she didn't need to go to the doctor today, but Medicaid provides 20 bucks a month in gas money for her to visit the doctor. I will quote her "I am only here because I get $20 in gas money from Medicaid, and it only costs me $5 to get here, so I pocket the rest" This abuse is everywhere and I see it on almost every patient that has Medicaid. Mind you I see probably 20 patient's per day that have Medicaid and this is typical.REPORT COMMENTS

I recieve assistance, and I live in government housing. There are so many people who live in the same apartment complex who need tested. For example, the apartment right next to us, they smoke marajuana several times daily. And it seaps through the walls and vents. I have a two year old, who I dont want exposed to things like that. I am on assiatance because I made a few wrond choices at a young age, and got pregnant at 16. I am with his father, and we are married. We are good people who needed a little help to get our life on track. I know a lot of people who are only on assistance because they are too lazy to work, and it's free money to them. I 110% agree people on assistance should be drug tested. I think it would clean up the system a lot. And for the ones who fail, they may realize the only way they will get help is if they clean themselves up.REPORT COMMENTS
