As a volunteer at the Chapman Historic Museum, and a member of the Adirondack Archeological Association, I regularly witness visitors', lecture attendees and local residents' eager to learn more or preserve important data and memories pertaining to the area. Without this physical and intellectual information, present and future generations lose perspective of what is, and what should be. Thank you in advance, for your help in this endeavor. -

The State and Tribal Historic Preservation offices are critical for preserving our important historic buildings and sites. They provide an avenue and standards for determining what is and is not significant among our remaining historic resources, which are daily dwindling. I completely support the continued funding of the HPF.REPORT COMMENTS

The past is more important now than ever. We forget America's complicated past at our risk, as the celebrations among the White Nationalist movement in the past week have demonstrated. Please continue to allow America's complex and diverse past to remain part of our present.REPORT COMMENTS

History creates jobs. I speak as a professional archaeologist. HPF and laws like the NHPA employ thousands of Americans and help stimulate the service economies in the small towns we stay in during our field projects.REPORT COMMENTS

Job creation is among the many things that the HPF and the SHPO system. In my rural area, the local Hugh schools and community colleges are creating a preservation trades program. These programs will start teaching trade and artisanal skills to fill the demand for skilled workers who can work with plaster, repair wooden sash windows, build with and fix sandstone architecture, and other tasks associated with the maintenance and improvement of historic properties. These activivites rise from demand sparked by those taking advantage of preservation tax credits administered by SHPO.REPORT COMMENTS
